Default held an interesting Ruger Blackhawk this morning

I stopped in at a shop over where the grand kids live and the owner showed me what is supposed to be 1 of 100. it is a Blackhawk with a Bisley grip frame, 3 3/4" barrel chambered in .45 Colt and .45 ACP(two cylinders). it is in stainless steel. lee

I love my Vaquero Bisleys in 45 colt. I don't understand why you would want a long grip and a short barrel. It isn't like this would be a good CCW gun!

Except for the novelty for collectors, I doubt you could find 100 people that would buy one to use!

A lot of people like that Bisley grip, especially when firing stiff loads. Sounds like a nice gun for packing in the woods.

Many feel that the Bisley frame is the one that Colt SHOULD have used in the first place on the SAA. Much more ergonomic for the shooter.

I had a Ruger Bisley in 44mag a number of years ago. It felt more like a 357 in recoil. Being young and dumb, I let it go. I wish I had kept it.

The Ruger Bisley does not feel anything like the Colt Bisley (thankfully).

The Bisley grip might be longer, but between the grip shape and the hammer shape it is MUCH easier to cock. So, yeah, I think a 3" Bisley would make a helluva woods gun.
