Default Old school AR pics

Purely for your viewing pleasure. I wanted a pic of both my old boy AR's, one a A1 and the other a 601 style.

I remember the days when they were the "modern" rifles. After the sunset of the AWB things changed ...

I have a couple M4's, one mutt and one Colt, and a lightweight mutt handi-carbine as well. The old school pair are my favorites.

No thanks. I'll take a classic vintage AR over any of the post 9/11 wonder guns (yes- the original AUG is older, but not many made it here).

I have two "Retro" AR-15 rifles I put together a number of years
ago. One is a late 70's Colt M16A1 model 603. All Colt except
for the Nodak Spud A1 lower receiver. The other is a "Retro"
Colt model 653 light weight carbine. All Colt except for the
Nodak Spud lower and the reproduction stock. The 16 inch
barrel is actually a 1X7 twist A2 barrel that I converted to an
A1 barrel. Both are fun to shoot. The parts for these rifles have
just about dried up. Current prices are sky high.

After the AWB expired I bought a Bushmaster M4gery in 2004 that was the typical post AWB gun, there quickly sprung up a market for aftermarket accessories. About two years ago, I asked my son to update my old M4 and use the parts taken off to built another rifle for his brothers birthday.

First photo is from 2004 and the next from 2016, I started getting all my personal rifles scoped about seven, eight years ago.
