Default What AR-15? (LEOs)

Hey all! I know we have a lot of current and former LEOs on here. What AR-15 make and model does your department use? What do you carry on duty?

I'm active duty Air Force so we have Colt and FN M4s. Just looking to see what brands LEOs are running with these days. Thanks!

Jay

We are issued 16" colts at my department. If you own an AR and want to use it on duty, you have to have a department armorer look it over and make sure its good to go, and from a pre-approved list of manufacturers. No franken-guns. I happen to use a personally owned Stag Arms AR. Fantastic rifle.

My issue rifle is a Rock River LAR-15 with their match grade trigger, SBR heavy barrel 10".

I am completely confident in it. If I were to buy a personal AR today, I'd go Rock River. (And I have a few Palmetto and DPMS Builds and a Colt Match HBAR)

We transitioned to the M-16A2 in 1991, then went to M-4's.....these were select fire.....we also were issued the Colt 9mm smg's.......I retired in 07, they were still using the Colt's and still are today.

I retired in 2001 and at that time, the PD had 9mm Colts.
