Default 2" J Frame type 22

There just isn't much out there if you are looking for one of these sans the lock. Model 34's are out there price wise, I was even looking for one that might be finish challenged, used a lot but not abused and no luck. I was looking for all steel or mostly all steel, nothing available. Except for Charter Arms. Started looking for a CA just to put my hands on and that wasn't even possible. LGS no go, Academy nope and nothing at Cabelas either. LGS says they can order one for me, I say I wanna at least touch it before I buy it. Last resort was a Gun Show, I don't even like going to those anymore because most everything there is black and plastic or you got dealers just waiting to harpoon somebody. Well, I went in hopes of at least seeing one and golly gee whiz I got to handle two of 'em! Do all manufacturers send their products out the door these days somewhat rough? Last new recently manufactured gun that I bought was something CZ, can't remember what model it was but it was perfect. Granted, this is a Charter Arms, an entry level gun I suppose, it seems well made but I guess I should say that it needed some break in time. After about 500 cycles of the trigger, cylinder release, ejector rod, opening and closing of the cylinder, it has smoothed up really nice. I'll try it out this weekend, hopefully it's a straight shooter.

About a year ago I stumbled across one of these LNIB and dirt cheap. Having not had a 2" .22 revolver for some time, I bought it.
It feels really good in my hand and the trigger is surprisingly slick.
Unfortunately, it ain't much for accuracy. I suppose it would be fine as a house gun for an older person who can't handle anything bigger. But the best I could get out of it was about 3-4" at 21 ft.

CZU, I'd really like to know how your test fire went.

Taurus did make a snubby model 94 but it has been discontinued, also had a lock. They used to be everywhere but now they are hard to find. I have a 20+ year old model 94 w/o lock but it's a 3 inch polished stainless. I have looked for a snubby from this era but have yet to see one.

I was unable to try it out this past weekend, hopefully this weekend will be the one. I'll let you know how it does, hopefully it won't be a stinker.

I had an S&W 2" Model 34 some years ago. These guns are accurate, but like all J-frames, are difficult to master. They are not at all forgiving of a shooter's deficiencies. For that reason, many of us call them inaccurate. At twenty-five yards, mine shot several inches high with the rear sight adjusted to the lowest setting.

Great little guns for the expert and for those willing to practice sufficiently.

I wanted a 34 snubbie for years, back when you could buy all them you wanted. Never wanted to lay out the money for a
snubbie when I wasn't sure if they would be accurate. Really
didn't know anyone who shot that owned one. Well couple years
ago I got one on trade. I have several 34s, which I admit are not
as easy to shoot as a 17. I took some getting use to a small light
gun. I couldn't shot the snubbie, but off sand bags it shot as well
as 4" at 25'. There is nothing wrong with the snubbie 34, it is a
gun that takes a lot of practice and skill to master. I couldn't
make the grade with it, so I sold it.

I owned a 2" Model 34 for quite a few years. I also own a 4" Model 34 which shoots a whole lot better. Truth be told, for a .22 revolver, I prefer my Model 18s. So even the 4" 34 doesn't see much use.
The snubbie just sat in the safe for a very long time. I just didn't use it. So a couple of years ago I sold it at a tidy profit.

Then this little CA came along. The price was right, so what the Hell? Honestly, it was an impulse purchase. Aside from the fact that its not particularly accurate, I find I still have no real use for a 2" .22 revolver.
