Belgian Sweet 16
I just picked up a Belgian made Sweet 16. It only has a smoothbore slug barrel but I'll be looking for a Belgian made shot barrel. The gun is only in fair to good condition, but I'll clean it up a little. Unfortunately the slug barrel is not a matching serial number. I had been looking for a Sweet 16 for about 20-25 years to add to my collection. Currently the only other Browning I have is a 12 ga Citori, new in 2015. I do have a Winchester from the Browning years, the model not the gun, a Winchester 94.

Always wanted a Sweet 16 but hasn't happened yet. Good luck on your hunt and congrats on your new 16.

I have two Belgian Sweet 16's....one was my dad's one my granddad's. They bought them before I was born.
Both still function flawlessly and will serve my two girls when the time comes.
Wish I had a slug barrel for them.
Enjoy that fine gun sir!

I found a great deal on a Sweet 16 back in the 80's at a small, local pawn shop. It's a Japan model with the screw-in chokes. At the time I wasn't crazy about it being made in Japan but nowadays I don't have a problem with it. I believe they are bringing more than the Belgium models due to the screw-in chokes. But it's not leaving the family. The 16 just handles so well.

My first real shotgun was a Sweet 16, Christmas 1968. My brother has it now.

They are great shotguns, bought a used one in the late 70's. Belgian, shoots the shorter 16 gauge shell, has a poly choke on it. It had been somebody's bird gun, and that is the role it has served up until a couple of years ago when I hung up my bird hunting gear. They are built like the proverbial Swiss watch, and run accordingly. I have taken hundred's of birds with mine and put a couple of fox squirrels in the pot with the old Browning last week.

Always thought it a true crime how many of these had plumbing attached to the muzzle in the '50's and 60's.
