Default Ever buy something small just because you did not buy that really nice something big?

I found myself thinking almost seriously about this truly outstanding Ithaca 4E NID

However, in my neck of the woods $4,750 is real money
So instead I got a Scovill made Colt WWII 1911 magazine to help round out my collection of toe stamps
The magazine was a lot less than $4,750 and I am feeling much better:

Anyone with a similar experience?

Default big to small.

Wow !!That's a beautiful old Ithaca Your magazine ain't too bad either I've shared your experience many times over the years; had an itch I could only dream about, so ended up scratching my itch with something, I also wanted, but smaller and less expensive. That takes some real discipline

That's part of out hunting instinct. If we can't bag a deer, we come home with a rabbit, but never empty handed.
