Puma Knife...Emperor
Picked this off a gun show table early summer.
Puma Emperor about 1983 vintage.
Has some really deep stags.
Big blade for a folder. Looks like someone added
some file work.

I have plenty of assault tactical ninja knives, but I still love an old school lock back ''110'' style knife.

Great score on this model. They seem to be fetching good money from what I have seen. Great quality and made in Germany. Into knife collecting myself and my favorite is still my 66 made Puma Skinner. Great blade you have there and thanks for sharing.

agreed. I miss my old KaBar 1189 when they were still Ka Bar from Olean NY.

I agree that the file work is not original.
The Emperor is a bit large for me. My Whitetail is basically a Prince with white Micarta scales. Four-inch blade. I like it a lot.
I think Puma made the best knockoffs of the Buck Model 110.

That Puma has the same lines as the old KaBar 1189. The Schrade LB7 and the Buck were kinda chunky. The Kershaw Wildcat Ridges are a nice balance between the 2 styles.

That Emperor is a beauty. I have the more pedestrian Planter model, and a White Hunter. Can't recall when I bought the Planter, but believe it must have been 40+ years ago. IIRC, I paid $16.00 for it new.

Wow $16 for a Puma. Must have been at least 40 years back. Glad you have the White Hunter. Seem em on E-Bay with prices of $300 for a vintage chromium carbon steel blade. Now stainless I believe. Like I said earlier $25-30 for my Skinner back in 67. A real keepsake.

I'm still looking for a NIB Emperor to go with the 4 smaller ones I have in the series. Can't bring myself to pay the 4-5 hundred for a NIB example.
