My favorite non-SW3 shooter would be my Tungsten Grey Walther PPQ Classic in 9mm.

Default COLT GOVT.

For me it would be my newly purchased 01991. Nothing fancy, and pretty close to the originals.

My favorite wasn't even made in the same century as my Smiths. It is a Winchester 1885 "High wall" in 45-90, made in 1892. It is still in good shape, with a new Shilen barrel. It gets used for long range target competition. I can even get a hit with it once and a while - my fault entirely. The rifle shoots where I point it, it's just that I don't point it right all of the time.

This is my #1 favorite gun, regardless of choices.

All purely personal though, but it's fun to see other's favorites.

Read the thread about the Sig P-210 posted yesterday. That pistol is like a gun that was dropped here by a time traveler from the future. It's awesome.

Mine is a Hi Power comp. I've had quite a few HPs and dozens
of 19911s and S&W 39s. The trigger on this gun needs no tuning.
Shoots like a K38, most accurate 9mm I've ever owned. I would
like a 210 if they are better.

I'm still a revolver guy . Mine would be my Ruger OM Vaquero in 45 Colt. It's built on the 44 magnum frame , a bit heavy but loves the 45 colt loads I run through it, accurate as all get out . NO bottom feeders for me .

P99AS in 9mm is a great weapon that just isn't appreciated in the US.

My favorite non-s&w would have to be my STI TEXICAN revolver. They only mfg. 68 of those I believe. It shoots poa & will group into 1 1/2 inch at 25 yards with any load I've tried. Cock it & it clicks 4 times as it should. It is strong as a bank vault & the Turnbull case hardened finish is beautiful.

My favorite is my CZ 75 Compact steel with decocker. It was brought back from a rusted, pitted mess and turned into a thing of beauty. It may be my smoothest shooter and it's very accurate.

I have a couple really nice Rossis. But they were manufactured during the time S&W owned a big chunk or all of Rossi, and were activly engaged in providing technical and mechanical assistance to Rossi. So the perplexing question, do they count as 'non S&W'?

Lots and lots of other guns. Many favorites.

US Arms Abilenes, Sevilles, and EL Dorados
Colt Diamondbacks, Pythons, 1911
Dan Wessons Super Mags
Ruger Maximum, 45c Bisley Hunter, Mark II
Browning HP

Go ahead and ask another silly question, What's my favorite caliber?

This is my favorite non S&W handgun. Its the only non S&W that I own.

I did change the grips. The original ones were black. They both have the same feel.

I picked this one because I like the feel of it in my hand. Its never been fired and never will be unless one day one of my girls decide to fire it after I'm dead and gone.

I'm going to get another one to shoot.

Has to be my Italian Colt 1860.
Absolutely gorgeous lines with that 1873 grip frame and a short barrel.

My non S&W favorite varies, but I've enjoyed breaking in the American manufactured version of the SIG P210 over the last few months. I was very skeptical, and unfortunately vocal, that an American made version could be worth a darn compared to the earlier Swiss and German P210s. The precise fit, clean machine work, reliability and accuracy of the American version has forced me to eat my words

Normally I would say the Walther PPK/S, but mine was actually manufactured by Smith & Wesson, so...

Taurus Judge Magnum.

Probably an unusual answer, but I just really like that big hunk of steel with its elongated cylinder.

I purchased a new BHP in 1968 and carried it daily for over 40 years. That is my favorite non-S&W. Now that I am in my old years my other favorite non-S&W is my old 6" Ruger Mark 1, circa 1976. Cheap to shoot, very reliable, natural pointing and super accurate. In addition to my 17-1, these are the very last to go.

Tough call, but I'd have to go with the 1903 Colt in .32 caliber, that my Uncle left me. Less than a two boxes of shells thru it since new. I've had it over 20 years now.

While any good 1911 is always on my list as I get older picking up brass looses it's appeal fast.
So we go back to my old favorite a single action revolver. I don't want a new Rugers with the safer modernized system give me an old load one, skip one, and load four guns. Case hardened, short barrel, and wood grips. Maybe not all that usable or practical they get a lot of style points.

I'm a Smith and Wesson revolver guy, but this is my favorite when the S&W is not quite enough and I don't need a full size rifle.

Its a Vector Arms MP5K clone of a gun HK never made. While they did make a .40 they only made it in a full size gun.

I carried this accurized Ithaca M1911A1 as my personal sidearm in the Army and later in the National Guard. It's my "old reliable" and I'll never let it go.

I can even shoot .22 LR with it for practice via an original Colt conversion unit!

My 1944 Remington-Rand 1911A1. It was rebuilt in 1963 to
National Match standards by the Army's Springfield Arsenal
and sold at Camp Peary to an Army Colonel that I worked for.
I bought it from him in for $75.00.

I used to carry it, but it is now retired and I carry a CZ 2075 RAMI
or a 3" Kimber 1911.

I shoot the Beretta 92 series better than any other gun including 1911’s and Sigs but I have to say in terms of practicality, and reliability, it would have to be a FS or compact Glock.

CZ 75 w/Kadet kit.

I have to say, that I think the Manurhin took the k-frame design and modified it superbly. I'd buy a S&W designed with those improvements in an instant.

Don’t know if I have a favorite but if I know I’m going to a fight I’d take my Gen IV Glock 17.

It originally came with the thin grips, I also swapped to the standard thickness Baer grips.

This gun just locks right in to my hand, very accurate and 100% reliable. Over the past 39 years I've owned Colt 1911s, some stock and others that were customized by both Novak and Wilson. Great guns but there's just something about Baer's pistols that I prefer.

For cost, it’s my Glock 19. Good enough.

For 1911s, I just love my Ed Brown Special Forces 1911. Its a tie with the Kobra Carry.

Strangely, my favorite woods gun is a Ruger Alaskan 454 Casull.

My favorite is this Browning High Power.
Wearing its carry grip panels in the Summer Comfort holster.
