A nice Remington not often seen.
A 7.65 Remington pocket pistol that I picked a while back. the condition is excellent (The barrel like glass) and I not sure if it was ever fired. I don't collect these pistols but it was too nice to pass up.

Looks like good old fashioned super quality. Bet it would cost a bundle if made the same way today. Often amazed that these pistols can be purchased for reasonable money today considering the quality of the manufacturing. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent score. The .32's are actually more scarce than the .380's in the Remington PA51 line, quite opposite of Colt's and Savage's production numbers for those calibers. I have a nice .380 from 1923 and if I found a .32 in excellent condition I'd be on it like a duck on a Junebug. I think you will find if you run a few magazines through it it is surprisingly accurate with great pointability.

I think the grip inspired that for Star 's Modelo S and Super S .380's.
I guess we all know that Gen. Patton had one in .380.

Have admired those old Remington M51's for years. Really interesting design and history. Mine's a .380, made in 1919 and shoots like it believes it's a target pistol.

This pistol has a strong resemblance to the Browning .380 and perhaps .32 which they stopped importing not too long after the Gun Control Act of 1964 became law.

The Remington Model 51 only bears a superficial cosmetic resemblance to the 1910 Browning, and since the .32 & .380 Brownings are identical with minor internal differences why do you suppose you can tell them apart without handling them?
And it was GCA '68, not 1964. As a result of restrictions in this ridiculous legislation both the "Browning Pocket" and Walther PP & PPK series were significantly modified to gain enough "points" to keep them importable, they were not banned. Both the Brownings and Walthers were modified to include target sights, thumbrest grips, longer frames (both guns) longer slide (Browning) etc. These resulted in the Browning "Sport" and Walther PPK-S. Took two fine pocket pistols completely out of the pocket pistol category!
Naturally there were other pocket pistols that simply were no longer imported!

Old time LEOs referred to the Remington Model 51 .380 as the "Steel Finger" due to its pointing ability.
