Default Deer Hunting Revolver - Taurus Raging Bull

I have been looking into purchasing a 44 magnum revolver for deer hunting. I bought a property that already has a ground blind that provides 20 - 45 yard shots. I used it for crossbow hunting last year and think it would also work really well for revolver hunting...and it's a good reason to buy my first 44!

I have been researching hunting revolvers and had narrowed things down to one of the 629 PC models or the Ruger Super Redhawk. Yesterday I had time to tour the local gun shops. No SBH's to be found. Found a couple standard 629s and one PC 6" that was pretty sweet but pricey of course.

Then, I wandered over to the used 44 section and spotted a Taurus Raging Bull 44. I asked to see it and I'll be doggoned if the trigger wasn't sweet. It already had the rail installed and the price tag was just over 5 bills. All I need is for it to shoot straight and reliably. It's a bit beastly looking with the Raging Bull billboard on the side...but I kinda like it. I wouldn't care one bit if it gets roughed up from use. Top it with my TRS red dot, sight it in, and I think I'd be ready to go. My oldest son would probably love it too.

Anyone have any feedback on the Raging Bull revolvers?

I had one for awhile, purchased new @ a gunshow a couple of years ago. It was a solid gun, shot to point of aim and the only thing I can think of was I didn't like the trigger. It was a bit stagey but that's just me. I only traded it b/c my plans changed and I not longer needed it.

While I don't have a Raging Bull I do have a Tracker and couldn't be any happier with it . Purchased in 2004 I've shot it extensively, no problems whatsoever , well made , accurate and it has a nice trigger pull. It's a keeper for sure.

Well, I picked up the Raging Bull over my lunch break. It's the older model with only one cylinder release. I was able to haggle the price a bit and get him to throw in a used Millet red dot and some rings. I'm looking forward to shooting my first 44!

It sounds like you got a good deal. The Raging Bull is one stout revolver that will serve your purpose well. Check out YouTube, there are a good many videos on your revolver.
