Little Big Bore Thunderball .45
It seems every time I go to my local range that's also a gun shop, I find something I can't pass up on. This is a Cimarron Thunderball in .45 Colt. I paid $400. I also think this is the version that has the action tuned for SASS. Holster is a cross draw made by De Santis.

An absolutely lovely little gun. I envy the owner. Sad that single action revolvers in most cases do not "speak" to me the way that J-frames do. As I've often posted, for every Jack, there's a Jill.

Nice, I have a soft spot for large caliber, old style SA's. Great duo, the revolver and the rig. Your situation with " finding things in the gun shop" is why I am in self imposed " separatee status" from gun shows, gun shops. Decided a couple of years back I needed to stop buying guns and concentrate on shooting what I have, now ask me how that has worked out? You already know the answer. Be safe.

You sure about the name?
Reason I ask is, mine (lying there in front in that "pile o' guns") is a ThunderER, not a ThunderBALL.

I found a blue one used about 15 years ago for $165, That was way under market at the time! It is marked "Thunderer". It is very accurate with cowboy loads and fairly easy to hold on to. With 225 Silvertip Hollow Points, also very accurate on the first shot, but mine has smooth grips and just rolls up in your hand! Forget a follow up shot. I thought about changing the grip frame out with a 357 I seldom use.

From my research, Pietta calls theirs the Thunderball. Uberti uses Thunderer (and doesn't offer polished stainless).
Mines a Pietta.
Thunderball Pre War Stainless Steel .45 Colt, 3 1/2 in.

Yes Sir, I like it! I have two blued 3 1/2" Uberti Thunderer's in .45 Colt that I used in the CASS matches, shot the snot out of em with full power 250gr loads for seven years with zero problems. That grip with the "shoulder" at the top helps with grip rotation when shooting at speed. Enjoy that one!
