CUSTOM KNIVES
When I lived in Arizona many moons ago I met a knife maker at a show. His name is Steven Largent. He lives in Colorado. His knives are some of the best for the money. I could only buy two. I posted these in another post but I would like for them to have their own.
These may be up for sale soon if you are interested.

I am pretty sure his name is James Largent. Steve was a football player.

All I had to do was read the knife. That's what happens when you get older 😂

Do look very well crafted. Closest I got to custom was a vintage Puma Skinner.

I really like that first one.
However, knives really aren't my interest, and paying good money for custom examples doesn't appeal to me at all.

I never thought I would be able to have a custom knife. But was gifted this little hunting knife last year. It was already marked up from improper use, but can really hold an edge. The makers name is Edmund Davidson, and a heck of an nice gentleman. I was fortunate enough to have met him at a friends deer camp a few years back. A master knife maker and all around good guy.

I love custom knives. Every once in awhile I buy one. I recently acquired some commercial knives that are really nice and I need to get pictures.
I'll be watching for your sale post. I might not be in the market but one never knows.
I've had some standard knives "customized", too.

The only custom, handmade knife I've ever commissioned has field-dressed a large number of nice Pennsylvania white-tails for my son.
Made by a fine Kentucky bladesmith named Jim Fister (long retired, if he's even still alive), it's designed to be handy for a bowhunter. The convex-ground blade, hand forged from 52100 ball bearing steel, is a three-inch-long drop point, fairly wide. with a skinning sweep. It's full tang, with scales of black paper Micarta. The sheath, which Fister also made, is treated with bear grease.
It's a sweetheart, and my son says it makes, quick, efficient work of dressing out a deer.
Well over twenty years ago I paid just under a hundred bucks for it.

I have many custom knives. Maybe one day I will try to photograph them and post some.
