Oh No! Not Another Mouse Gun!
As I have previously mentioned, the first handgun that I shot was a Beretta with the flip-up barrel.
So as I seem to be morphing into smaller guns, I just bought a Beretta 21A.
I bought it from a guy who owned two model 21s.
The one I bought had been his ex-wife’s gun!
Sure hope it not carrying bad mojo!
Not sure if it had ever been fired.
But it has now.
This one loves CCI MiniMags.
It shoots MiniMags so well, I have promoted this gun.
It’s now officially a Rat Gun!

My 21A has cheap tastes.
Likes Remington Thunderbolts and
despises Mini Mags.
No accounting for taste, eh?

I have it's only slightly larger brother, the "Tomcat"!! It seems to be basically the same design, but in .32 ACP. It's buried somewhere in the safe...now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I'll dig it out for a couple of photos. Nicely made little gun.
Best Regards, Les

Have always wished that Beretta would make this gun in a slightly larger frame to handle .380 caliber ammo. Don't know if that would work with a blowback firing mechanism. But I sure think this style would be a dandy gun in .380 caliber. Have owned it in both .32 and .22LR. Regret selling the .22LR! Traded the .32 and haven't really missed it though it was a fine little gun. But it also takes another caliber in inventory ... This thread makes me kinda start thinking about looking for another 21A!

I've got the same little guy ... kinda-sorta. Mine is a .25 and gets carried a lot. Understand neither .22 or .25 will stop a drug-crazed killer - so I just don't go where DCK's hang out ... These have been hard to come by in decent shape. A local feller - and SWF member - has a very nice one in nickel and .25 ... but I just don't have $450 ... yet. By the way, my .25 has been upgraded with a slide-assist device ...

They did, the Model 86. More than a little bit bigger than the 21a, but works the same way.

I have the .22 in blue with the wood grips. For a tiny thing it is surprisingly accurate!

Hmmm! Missed that. Thanks for the information. Now I gotta start looking around! Do you (or anyone here) have any information, personal or otherwise, as to how the Model 86 performs and functions? I'd sure appreciate hearing about it!

When I could still see the sights (mid-nineties) I could load one of my Mec-Gar 9 round magazines, and with a full load of ten rounds of .25 ACP ball ammo in the gun, place all rounds in the A-zone of a USPSA target at 50 yards off-hand. Not a fluke, I did this on multiple occasions to demonstrate the accuracy of the 21A.

Here's another 21a in 25acp, shown with an 84F. I don't shoot the 21a very well beyond a couple of yards.

Love my mouse guns !
I have 2 21's in .22, one in .25 and a 950 Jetfire (.25).
Kept a 21 in my pocket for years, replaced it with a BG380.

Mouse gun
I've gotta show my "mouse cannon". A neat( and not known to many) little .25 Cal. German Ortgies, made in ca. 1925. Fun to shoot. I like the Beretta Tomcat as well; I've thought of buying one.

I had a 21A for a few years, (22RF) and it would only shoot high velocity rounds. It was poorly accurate, and one evening when I was cleaning it, I took a good look down the barrel and discovered the rifling on one side of the barrel was literally not there. I sold it and never really replaced it, but did acquire a .25acp Baby Browning just for grins. Surprisingly, it shoots pretty good. 3" groups at 10 yards which is better than I expected with those sights.

Bought mine back in 95 and like most, it was only reliable with CCI mm. It took about 2k rounds but, now it will reliably fire and eject all bulk ammo including Remington ThunderJunk.

I have an early Jetfire in 25 cal.
It does not have a thumb safety...
Bought it around 1967 or 1968.
I used to carry it in my back pocket when I was a uniformed LEO..
Got plenty of character marks on it.
I had it out last month for fun. Still shoots great..
