Ithaca Model 51 shotgun
Do some of you shotgun guys remember this fine autoloader ( top gun in this photo) ? An Ithaca Model 51, apparently made for only a short time. A friend, from Minnesota, of one of our Dove hunting group, hunted with us for a couple days. He was shooting a beautiful Ithaca Model 51 autoloader. We all shoot autoloaders, but we admired this old Ithaca which he's owned for many years. Anyone own one ??

I owned a 20 gauge with plain modified, skeet, and VR full choke barrels. I sold it and bought a Beretta BL2S 12 gauge. The Ithaca 51 had a lifetime warranty through the original company. I bought mine on my eighteenth birthday for $99.99 on closeout, from the J.C. Penney affiliate Treasure Island. I bought the skeet and full barrels used from a skeet/trap range.
I still have an Ithaca 37 with three barrels.

Yes, I had one back in 80s in 12g. Had FC, IMC, and slug barrel.
Was a slick working light shotgun and good slugger. I think that
SKB made these guns for Ithaca. You didn't see many of them
and Slug barrels were hard to come by. Ithaca had another series
XLs and there was a couple series of them. I can't remember
which came first.
