My gift gun
An elderly man that I have known for a long time has me drive him to the doctor office about once a month. He has a bad back and they inject something in there. Last month I took him to the hospital for bladder cancer surgery. It went well. His wife cant drive or get around very well so I'm all he has. One time we were talking about guns and I mentioned that another friend of mine has a Glock 17 he had converted to full auto. He has the proper license. It ran flawlessly with the 31 round mags. I said I liked the 19 better for CCW. He called me and said to come over. He bought me this. Glock 19 gen 5 brand new. He gave me 2 boxes of ammo which I quickly shot up. This little gun is very accurate. I love it. When I told him that was to expensive he said, "oh well, I put it on plastic". I still carry my M37 but I like this gun.

It is so refreshing to hear stories of 2 very kind and grateful people such as you and the sick old man. Very nice of you to help him and very very nice of him to repay you in such a way. Enjoy the heck out of that Glock!!

I carry a Gen 3 17 at work. It won’t win any rare or pretty gun competitions, and it sure ain’t a J or K frame, but I can almost guarantee that when you pull the trigger it will work!
And a good story and memory behind it as well

It is the stories that make our firearms so special. You have a very special sidearm.

Same here. And even though I'm not into Glocks, I respect them. I've never met one I couldn't shoot, and I have yet to see one malfunction. I have to admit, every time I've shot one, I've wondered to myself, "Why don't I have one of these?"

Robert, I say you the reason you don't have one of those Glocks is the same reason I don't have a Chevy or a Dodge pickup truck. Either one of those would get me where I need to go and do what I need to do, but I just like my Ford pickup trucks!
But I will say this, if some one gave me a Glock like this old gentleman gave one to Mr. Smith, I'd own it as long as I lived. What a very nice thing for that gentleman to do, and better yet, what a nice thing that Mr. Smith has been doing for this nice old gentleman and his wife. I admire both of you very much!

What a wonderful story.
I don't own a Glock either, because I think they are ugly. That being said, if I was given one in such a manner, I would also own it until death.
