TC thompson rifle made by s&w
I just found out about this, they guarantee three shot 1" groups at 100yds it's a nice looking rifle. It's very affordable entry level rifle of for the avid hunter. This proves you don't need to drop big bucks to get a accurate rifle. Plus it says manufactured by s&w right on the barrel. I think the 7yo grandson needs one of these.

I bought a 308 Savage 10 BAS about 8 years ago ($1500 +tax). It got a little bit better accuracy right out of the box, but was about 4 times the cost! My "bit better" group was one hole for 20 rounds, but my scope (NightForce 8-32x56 BR) cost about 4 time the TC rifle cost too. How much accuracy is enough? and How much cost is enough? If I or my adult sons needed a hunting rifle, I would defiantly give the TC a try.

I just wish it came with sights. Guess I'm old fashioned.
