This weekend is opening weekend for quail in AZ and this morning I had some success with my new to me Benelli Montefeltro 12 gauge. Early morning proved to be best since the heat is still present out here in the desert. Flights were erratic and quick, our group only locked in on a few good coveys.
The shotgun shot very very well, even with what little practice I've had with it. (None) I used the improved cylinder choke and 2 3/4 - 1 1/8 - 8 Winchester loads and had 0 malfunctions or issues. Weather was excellent, and no rattlesnake bites. Can't complain. Birds are dressed and marinading before the grill tonight.
