No experience with that one, but I do have a cheap ($25) Gerber multitool that has been reliable. It sees only light use, though. Just looking at the Center Drive online it appears to be well made and a much more useful tool than the one I have.

No experience with it. But it looks like a good design. Made in USA takes standard bits is a big plus.

If you get it let us know how it goes.

I'll be curious to see how it works for you. My experience with Gerber knives, and especially machetes, has put me off the brand altogether.

Looks interesting, maybe a little bulky. No 1st hand experience with Gerber tools. A few reviews on EDC forum that are mostly positive.

I've been happy with Leatherman Rebar and Supertool 300 but they dont offer outside opening blade or driver. Leatherman support and service is great if needed.

It seems more like a bit driver than a multi-tool to me. I have SOG and Buck multi-tools which have flat and Philips screw driver capabilities. Having separate assorted bits to carry with the tool shifts it more to a task specific tool in my mind. 420HC is decent grade of steel. If it fits your needs, go for it. I do not see a niche for one in my day to day life.

I like the idea of multi tools. But in practice, I find them to be only ok at everything they do. When I want a knife I want a real knife, when I want pliers, I want real pliers.

I went back to my buck 110, a teeny victorinox in my watch pocket, ( for the scissors, tweezers, tooth pick, and nail file). I have 4 way screw drivers stashed around, and pliers too.

I have my multi tools spread out in different vehicles, tackle boxes, bug out bags, and first aid kits. I gave the rest away.

In the 80's, and the early to mid 90's I was a huge fan of Gerber, since then, not so much.

Wish you much luck with it, but far to many BETTER competitors out there, for me to spend my money on.

I own a few Multi-tools (Leatherman's) and I really can't get into them. I suppose on a trip or in an emergency they are better than nothing but they are cumbersome, awkward to work with and always frustrating when I've tried to use them. Now I relegate them to take along (in my luggage) when we go on a Cruise. I usually find I use it once or twice during the vacation.

As far as carrying one around the house and property - I don't bother! If I need a specific tool I'll get it from my Work Shop or from my SUV tool box.

That said, I do have some friends that prefer the Gerber over the Leatherman.

Have an Older Gerber multitool.
It’s a ‘car’ tool.
Have actually only used it a few times over the years I’ve had it.
But it standing by for action when I need it!

Not familiar with the Gerber, but in the same price range I got turned on to the Leatherman Skeletool and love it. I think I'm up to three now; one in my duty bag, one in my gun cleaning kit, and one in my motorcycle tool bag.

This thing is much too fussy for my taste.

I have a much less elaborate one that I've used only a couple times over 25 years.

I sure wouldn't spend my money on another unless it cooks breakfast and washes the dishes too.

Eh. You could spend an eternity reviewing and evaluating different multi tools. I've probably got 50 different varieties in various bags, boxes, vehicles and pockets which get used about once a year. They all have their unique differences, but when it comes right down to it, none of them do it all, and unless you're hiking the Appalachian Trail, you'll always have other tools available as well. If you like it, buy it. Pretty sure most of them are right around $50, so it's not like you're keeping milk from the kids . . .
