Default Slightly battered Ruger Single Six with fixed sights.

My local police supply place recently took in two large shipments of old duty guns and evidence guns from a PD and Sheriff's Office in Washington state.

I got a nice Model 28 from the first batch, and this Single Six from the second.

Definitely an evidence gun. There was still a little red evidence tape on it.

The muzzle had some damage, and a bunch of biological schmutz on it before I cleaned it off.

The damage doesn't enter the bore, and it shoots nice small groups right on the point of aim at 50 feet.

It has some blue wear and the grips are dinged up, probably from being banged around in shipping or the evidence room. Or maybe it was like this.

Revolvers are slow movers at this place, and .22 especially so. This one was $225 out the door, so I feel like I did alright.

I was happy it shot to the sights. I think I have some better grips around, or I'll treat it to some new ones.

Does anyone know what the Ruger code is for this model?

That looks like my first Ruger!
Bought it in Roswell to shoot jackrabbits.

Nice gun. I have an old Single Six with the "unfixed" trigger. It is a lot of fun on the range.

I bought one used from a local dealer. It was well used, the grips were better, and the metal was a bit better, also. The sights, however, were atrocious. I had to file down the rear sight to get it to shoot even close to POA. It's fine now, but I can't imagine what the previous owner was thinking. I bought a Marlin 39A Original Golden at the same time from the same previous owner, and it was/is spectacular.

So, is the model the same as the current one? A model 0629,,,

Ruger® New Model Single-Six® Convertible Single-Action Revolver Model 0629
