Heads up for Hi Power fans
Bud's Gun Shop has some of the old Uncle Mike's Spegel Hi-Power grips:
Uncle Mike's Craig Spegel Browning Hi-Power Rubber Grips 59508 $24.95
25 bucks is a pretty good deal for these. They have been extremely difficult to find lately, and usually bring over 50 bucks on Ebay.
Uncle Mike's went into business with Craig Spegel on these, then there was some kind of falling out and they stopped making them.
They ain't pretty, but they are THIN.
It is a noticeable differences in handling.
They come without the original packaging or grips screws, but Bud's says they are new. Mine looked fine.

There are a lot of folks who strongly believe these were the best Hi Power grips ever made for a working gun. I'm one of those folks, and I ordered 2 pair of them.

As it is I do have sets of his BHPs in delrin and walnut.

I had the same issue, and I had to enable pop ups for the site for it to work.

The HRT Hi Powers were standard matte finished Mk II Hi Powers to which were added Novak Lo Mount 3 dot night sights with Spegel Delrin grips on a significant number of them, with Pachmeyers and other grips used on the rest.
Wayne Novak worked on them and produced about 250 of them from 1986 to 1990. The FBI switched to Les Baer customized Para-Ordnance .45 ACP pistols in 1995.

I have three pairs of these, put them on all my HPs, except for the one with the real Spegels! Great buy, concur with the $50 EBay price - someone has a whole pallet of them.

I like the looks of these; I'm wondering do they make them for 1911's? I have that ATI 5" Mil. and the stock grips make the gun a little wide for my hand by a black hair. A little off each side would seem perfect for me and these grips might be the trick.

Bought a pair some months back after they were mentioned in another Hi-Power thread. Love'em. Compared to the factory wood stocks it was like buying a whole new pistol. Much better feel and for my hand size, much easier to reach everything.
Probably should get another pair or two since I doubt this will be my only Hi-Power.

I bought a set of Craig Spegel wood grips for my Hi-Power and couldn't be happier with them as they fit perfect and are great grips.

Thanks for the tip. I got my pair only to find that the lanyard ring post is in the way.
How do you remove those? A pin or punch thru the hole and unscrew it?
If so, which direction? Standard lefty loosy?
