Default Jimmy Lile Blade....

Birthday present from the wife a few days ago.
Owned a couple of these over the years but always
via some sort of trade and then sold.
They always brought good dough.

Looks like I am married to this one.
Appears to be a late 1990's "dot" knife.
I think it his #7 or the "Hunter".
Fits the hand like a glove.

Wow! That's a nice B'day gift. I think I would hang on to that one! (wife)
And probably keep the knife too!

Beautiful stag! You chose well when you married. I know very little about Lile or his knives but that looks like a practical one for camping and hunting. The only thing I would have done different is add a choil, the little nitch that separates an edge from the tang to make it easier to sharpen. Are Lile's blades assumed to be made from a particular steel if they are not marked other wise?

In hind sight I wish I'd been obligated to keep the few Randals I owned 35 years ago. I'll never budget for a new one at current prices.

Talking

He lived in my home town in Arkansas long before I moved here and I never got a chance to meet him or get one of his knives. The sign for his shop was still up but when I stopped it said it was closed as he had passed away.
