Eotech
Eotech 512 is on sale for a limited time today at Cabelas for a 100 bucks off plus there is another $75 with a rebate until Nov. 30. I've been on the fence but the sale has pushed me off.

Eotech got slammed bad when a couple of years ago it was discovered that their military models had a defect that the company knew about. They are even offering refunds for buyers of those models.
I have two 512s that have worked perfectly for years. I like 'em. If they ever die on me, then I'll send them back for the refund.

They did and still do make a quality product. There's a reason that some of our finest used them to take the heat to the front lines. Granted, there were problems with some - my team at work had a model that used the awful N batteries. HORRIBLE based on power consumption alone. With that model, we also noticed the point of impact shift. Any of the AA or CR123 battery models were most often good to go.
I took advantage of the rebate and sent in a model I didn't care for. I kept my old AA 512 model, as it's proven itself for many years of hard use now. Cabela's also has the CR123 model going on sale tomorrow - guess who will be in line!

I have owned four 512s (AA power models) for years..and have never had a complaint. I took advantage of the Cabelas sale on the 18th and now own 5. One on a revolver (TRR8) three on shotguns (2 KSGs and a DP-12) one on a Ruger American bolt .22LR.. When you find something that works..double down on it..

BTW. When I bought my first Eotech, it had a rebate, which I received without drama.

I had 3 of the models that used the N battery mounted on AR's. It seemed like every time I took one of those rifles to the range the batteries were dead. When Eotech had the buy back program due to the shifting zero issue I sent all 3 of them in and got my money back. My brother sent his N battery models in also but kept the one that used the AA batteries.
I thought they were a nice sight but in my opinion they were totally unreliable. If you have to put new batteries in it every time you want to use it, what good is it? I have a Russian manufactured red dot style sight for an AK. It uses the button style battery, it's well over 10 years old and the original battery still works!

One of several reasons the N battery model was a flop.

Thanks for the tip. I have been thinking of getting a holographic sight but had not done anything much about it before seeing this post.
However, Cabela's site now says that the Model 512 is on back order. The fine print on the Eotech Rebate Form says it must be postmarked by November 30 or will be rejected.
I called the Rebate Center's 800 number and was given a work around. I can send in the form with the online receipt and can contact them 30 days later with the bar code number off the sight. That will make me eligible for the Rebate, which looks like a real good deal.

Just got myself an EXPS 2-0 last week. We get a big discount at work on them. It will go onto my LWRC-DI as soon as I pay if off of layaway at work.
I am cross eye dominant so I wanted the "true two eyes" functionality.
