Cabelas clearing out the Ruger 77/44
I've wanted a Ruger 44 mag rifle for several years now but wasn't willing to pay $600+ for a used or new one. Ruger recently discontinued this model and they're not sure if anymore will be made. Someone on another forum posted this two days ago. I missed the Walnut/Blue model the other night but the Synthetic/Blue is still in stock. Fortunately I have a Cabelas about 8 miles away. I've ordered me one. At $399 it was a no brainer. I also have another $10 Cabelas Bucks off the total if your interested, just PM me.

Funny you say that. I ordered one for a customer today. They are still out there. I ordered him the stainless steel one.

If you click on the "Questions and Answers" in that ad, in answer to a question Cabela's responded "We are no longer carrying that rifle, it is out of stock online. Contact your local store to see if they can special order one"....
I hope you can get a 77/44 for that price, but I'd be surprised if anyone actually gets one. Sounds too good to be true.
Four years ago I paid $730 for my stainless 77/44, recently got a 77/357 and had to pay $760 after a lengthy search.

I ordered mine last night online and it was delivered to the store today and I've already picked it up. The Synthetic/Blue model is still available at $399, it says "In stock online". I'm not sure where your looking. Some of the guys on the forum that posted it are getting their emails today that theirs are available for pickup. These have been discontinued so Cabelas is clearing them out. So, be a believer! See below.

Being it's a rifle, it should be able to handle any factory loading in 44 mag. Including the heavy stuff from Buffalo Bore??

I have a mid 70s .44 carbine and I know I would not be letting it go. Sounds like the people that got rid of their 2 seater Thunderbird's (Baby Birds) to buy a new Mustang in the 60s! A few years later they regretted that decision BIG TIME!

I haven't owned 77/44 but mounted scopes and sighted 2 in.
Both were Blue/ walnut models. Both owners had win 240 JHP
Factory ammo. Both 2x7 Leupolds. Sighted at dead 0 at 75yds
they were cutting clovers. I've done a lot of 44mg rifles the
last few years, mostly Marlin 1894s and a few imports. I would
say this rifle is the most accurate of avaible new rifles( while they
last) I wish I had a bunch of them they would go like hot cakes
here in Ohio for deer season.

I'm assuming since it's a rifle it should be able to handle any 44 mag loading or not??
Any ideas anyone.

As far as heavy loads the 77/44 can handle them. The only thing
you would have to watch is OAL of cartridges. This is common in
the Lever 44s too. The only thing I have shot out of them is Win
factory ammo.

Thanks for the tip..
Should be a good lightweight hog gun
in these East Texas piney woods.
Had some Cabela club points (long forgotten).
My drive out was $369.61
Made that Ruger model a smoking deal.

Good for you and a dynamite price indeed. Sounds like the last of the quality made stuff. As far as the Ruger 44 mag carbines I would hold onto them too. Pretty costly if you can find one. Folks hangin onto guns like this.

I was thinking something along the lines of a Corbon or Buffalo loads. You know the ruger only loads.

I put 10 rounds through it at an in door range at 25 yards. Made a nice small group with 240 mags and 200 grain specials. Almost to point of aim, just a little left of center. Hardly any kick and with specials I thought it was a 22.
