Default Nostalgia Carry

I rarely leave the house these days without a Semi-auto on my hip. Today I decided to carry some old classics (I know, some of you guys carry these everyday, but I've been packing Autos since 1990).

Colt Official Police backed-up by a S&W model 36 loaded with some Gold Dot 135 gr. I chopped the holster a few years ago for a 3 incher when I no longer owned a 4 incher.

Sure. I always carry some form of back-up. Been doing it for years. Usually my Ruger LCP, as it's small and weighs next to nothing.

I carry a 1860 Colt Army sometimes. Probably not the best idea. Still better than nothing.

I'd venture that pair, or similar, would get you through most anything normal folks are likely to encounter. Very nice!

I still have my first off-duty gun, purchased new in ‘68 for $85. It’s a Colt Cobra that had the hammer bobbed b/c I had to carry in an undercover roll and one of the senior cops suggested it. I don’t carry it anymore only b/c I want to keep it in good condition and pass it down once I leave this earth.

I wish. No, a 3 inch S&W (long gone, but kept the holster).

Don't you know that if a holster is only an inch or two longer to always LEAVE it that way?

I always leave my holsters full size in case a future gun comes along. I have a couple 3" and 4" holsters that house 2.5" and 3" guns.

That little extra isn't a big deal. Now if it was a 6" holster and 4" or less gun maybe that would be too much.

I suppose I nostalgia carry every day.

Nice! Nothing wrong with a .38 revolver. I still carry my Airweight from my old Narcotics days.

As discussed elsewhere, some of us do like to switch around our carry guns. I was in a hurry this morning so I just grabbed my 642 and stuck it in my pocket. You can't go wrong with a wheel gun; old ones are cool for nostalgia!

Funny thing in re holsters - I obtained two similar Galco holsters for 2.5" or 3" wheel guns so I kept one intact and had the other cut down to handle a 2" K frame without the extra leather.
