Yes me too growing up and spending 50 years very close to Cocoa Florida where the Kel Tec plant is. I too have had awsome service out of 3 different calibers of there firearms all with many rounds threw. 32, 380 , 9mm. The day I bought the 32 it had a problem with mag latch. Took it to the plant. Ring the door bell they open door ask how they can help. Take firearm from you ask you to make yourself comfortable in waiting room. Return in less than 30 minutes. With a very heart felt appolagy and report that firearm has been repaired and been tested with 100 rounds threw it. Also it had the up dated trigger installed also. All done with out an appointment. The 32 is now about 7 years old never a issue with over 1000 threw. I commented to the person that took care of me how awsom there service was. He stated that any customer that ever comes to plant is taken care of right then always. As far as ad they need to re think that one. Never so far had issue with any of my Smiths , Springfield, or Rugers. I wonder what would happen if you showed up to their plant how it would work ?

This is a good example of what happens when you tell your marketing team, “okay now, no bad ideas.”

At 2nd look at ad it has done exactly what the marketing team wanted. It's got the brand and model all a buzz on many firearm forums. Solid Gold for them

This shows the opinion this manufacturer has of its "consumers." They think people who are interested in firearms are human waste drinking barbarians. I think the same of their company. Don't buy into the demeaning coarsening of our culture.

I saw that, and wondered what's next? For those who'd eat their own ....??? Guess that type of add is supposed to turn on all the keyboard commando Ninja/Operator wannabes and cause them to run out and buy KelTec products???
Of course Kel Tec may be wonderful stuff. My only experience with KelTec wonderfulness was shooting, or trying to shoot, an acquaintance's P-32. Sometimes got through as many as 2 or 3 rounds between malfunctions......

A friend of mine once described Kel Tec as the research arm of Ruger. Seems like Kel Tec comes out with a new, but flawed design, then Ruger fixes it.
We were at the NRA Annual Meetings a few years back and one of the "big" prizes was a Kel Tec pistol. I asked my friend is second prize was TWO Kel Tec pistols.

The rifle looks like one of those goofy things that they sell in California. People do all sorts of weird stuff there.

I have several KelTec firearms, including a PMR 30, P11, P32, PF9, P3AT, Sub 2000. I've been happy with all of them and assume that at least some of the KelTec haters may have never owned or fired one. I appreciate KelTec's willingness to innovate even if the new models are difficult or impossible to purchase. That said, the ad is gross but achieve the purpose of stimulating conversation.

Weird ad, ugly gun.
However, I do have an interest in their SU-16CA rifle and PMR-30 handgun.

With the same response as here - humility over the ad. Heck I haven't even SEEN an ad for the Ruger PCC and people are already standing in line for one!

I reckon it has nearly all been said here, so I will just leave a comment relating to my observation of the human female:
Sweet as honey with just a hint of urine.

I actually like Kel-Tec...I mean we complain that most companies just trot out 1911s and ARs, or the big guys with their Glock near-copies. At least they're innovating.
I've owned a few Kel-Tecs but no longer do. They all worked fine, but I upgraded to something else.

I didn't get this at all.....
.....so I looked it up. Yeah, I get what they mean, but it's a piss poor ad idea.
I like my subgen 2000 and my PM11 is an acceptable 'cheap pocket gun'.

That even someone defending Kel-Tecs uses the word "upgraded" should show us all the perceived quality of Kel-Tecs.
Having said that, I had their 380 pocket gun, twice. The first one ran fine for 10 rounds then jammed every round until it was cleaned and lubed. The second I had no problems with. Both were remarkably accurate for tiny gun, but I was no fan of the 380 round (and am even less of a fan now), so I got rid of the second one, too, even though it worked well.

At least they didn't say it was for "people who drink other people's urine". That would be nasty.
On a serious note if the ad was intended to get people's attention and increase their sales it has certainly done the former.

Isn't that the purpose of advertising?

Only in so far as it increases sales. It's easy to generate an attention getting advertisement that destroys sales.

I understand that the NRA needs the advertising revenue. We need ad dollars to exist and sometimes the ads go against our policies (political, racy, etc...).
A page and a half of buzz is probably more than this deserves...
