Default Sig Sauer P365

Sig just released the P365. 1" wide, 5.8" long, 4.3" tall, it's slightly smaller than a Glock 43 but with a 10 round patented magazine. Cool!
I've played around with this size gun and found it hard to justify when it's to big to pocket carry, and if I belt carry I figured I'd just keep my Glock 26 for 10+ rounds. This could change my mind.
I don't lack for carry pistols so I'm not wanting this in the immediate future, but will keep my eye on.

Seems Sig is a little late to the (single stack, striker fired, mid caliber) compact market but it looks interesting. Still, I'm going to be hard pressed to give up my gen 1 Walther PPS for anything else in this market. Carries like a sub compact. Shoots like a big gun.

The S&W Shield seems to already fill this space quite adequately.

The Sig P365 isn't a single stack.
The mags hold 10 rounds.
And has factory Sig night sights already installed.
I have a G43 so I'll wait a year for prices to settle down.
But Sigs are my favorite guns.

Default OUT OF THE LOOP ON "NEWER" SIGS"

I quit looking with the 220/226/239, this one looks interesting. Smaller, thinner, lighter, higher capacity, still (ALL???) metal. App 400$ below the usual msrp does have my too good to be true alarm ringing. It makes me wonder just how many corners were cut to lower the price so drastically. Will be watching this & the 910 re boot. I'm skeptical & normally disappointed when a mfg strays from their norm & comes up with one like ALL THE OTHERS & lowers the bar to reduce costs in order to compete with the LATEST (striker fired) TRENDS.

Looks like Sig took a page from Savage Arms for making a 10 round mag for a subcompact pistol.
My Savage 1907 (serial # made in 1911) holds ten .32 ACP in a semi staggared mag.
There is also a Sig 12 round mag for the P365.

I might consider it after their first year. usual Sig Beta Testing, er refinement. As stated above, Hard pressed to replace my PPS M2 that shoots so much bigger than it is.

There's a lot of good sub-compact, single stack 9's on the market. What distinguishes this Sig from the others is a 10 round mag in a grip the size of the others with 6 or 7 rounds. And yes, a extended 12 round is available.
They describe the mag as neither single or double stack and narrowing at the top. They have 3 patents on it.
Like I said, I've shied away from the single stacks because of their capacity compared to my G26 for belt carry. For me smaller is always better for carry. I'll give it a year to see how this Sig goes. My G26 is doing just fine for now.

Well got a email from SOS to pre order the P365.
$529.99 shipped.
Still too steep for me.
But glad to know they will be out here soon.

That's a introductory price. They'll drop a good bit for Christmas '18.

That said, they really need to be in ~$300 to be truly competitive with the other guns in their class.

Is this Sig's answer to the SCCY CPX-2? In a practical sense they are twins.

I don't know, selling at $450 doesn't seem to hurt the Glock 43 much.

Which is pretty much a copy of the Kel Tec P11, and both have a 10 round double stack mag. I guessing they'll be a bit wider at the grip.

The P365 looks interesting.
My next pistol will probably be the M&P 2.0 Compact. After that, I'm hoping S&W produces an M&P the same size as the P365. S&W is slowly updating their line to compete against the Glock 9mm lineup (I hope).

And then there's that M&P 2.0 Compact in .45acp that I'm 'crossing my fingers' for!

My only sig is a P 320 Compact. It is a sweet pistol, especially after the trigger upgrade. Love the disassembly. If the trigger pull on the P 365 is close to the 320, I'll be looking hard at it for an EDC in about a year or so. I'm not a fan of night sights, so wish that were an option, instead of mandatory. I like Crimson Trace lasers, so I'm not sure about the proprietary rail on the P 365. Considering it comes with metal, nite sights, I'd say the street price will be in line with other pistols of this comparable quality. Sig haters gonna hate!

I think this gun is gonna give the Shield and 43 a run for their money. Especially with night sights.

Supposedly the Sig has a great 5 pound trigger. The SCCY is rated st 9.

I think it's a very intriguing piece but it will be hard to replace the goodness of my PPS and divinity of my Shield. My fav single stacks to date. I like the round capacity in the 365 but the shield and PPS won my heart over for single stacks so Sig has a mighty high hill to climb against both. I think it can beat out the PPS but the shield will be hard to beat outside of capacity

This pistol seems to me to be designed to compete with the Glock 26. I'd like to see one . . .

Still too big for pocket carry by my standards, so I don't see any real advantage over my G26. Even if I was interested, I'd still wait a year a two so all the bugs could be worked out. It has been drawing a lot of attention and will likely be a big seller for Sig.

Not entirely. I shot one recently and I was surprised how well it shot, particularly in the recoil department. It was far more comfortable than my LC9s with a Hogue. Yes, it has a long 8-9 lb trigger, but that's fine for me on a gun with no manual safety.

The P365 is certainly SIGs answer to the SCCY, or really the Keltec P11 that the SCCY is a copy of. After Ruger copied the Keltec P3AT for the LCP and then the Keltec PF-9 started the single stack 9mm movement, I've wondered for years why a major manufacturer wasn't apeing Keltec's 9mm double stack that is smaller than a Shield or G43. If Keltec can do it, why can't Ruger or SIG improve the design and release it as their own?

Well, SIG has finally done it. I'm not sure why they needed a proprietary mag design since Keltec has done it for years with a S&W mag, but if it works reliably I'll have no complaints. I think this will crush single stack 9mm sales, especially if they can get the price down to under $400. If both guns are made by top tier manufacturers, why would anyone buy a single stack 9mm when they could spend just a bit more and get a double stack that is smaller than the single?

So, by doing almost everything a G26 can do while being slightly smaller than a G43 or Shield, this gun will impact the sales of a bunch of guns - the subcompact double stack and single stack 9mm markets are going to take a big hit.

There seems to be a size threshold that is very difficult to overcome with the micro guns being difficult to shoot well and tending to be very finicky. I think many companies don't want to tarnish their reputation by putting out unreliable and inaccurate tiny guns. I'd like to have a pocket auto and have read hundreds of reviews, but have not yet found one that meets my standards of reliability. They all seem to be hit and miss in that regard and why the Glock 26 is still the smallest auto I currently own.

Default "MICRO"????

MICRO? I think Sig just made that up. It doesn't appear to be that much smaller than many "subs/compacts" & a whole lot bigger than Secamps & Kahr PM's, etc.

It will also be a consideration for those who now carry a Keltec, SCCY, Ruger and any other pistol in the small, but not subcompact (pocket pistol).

IIRC, I have owned seventeen Sig handguns. I still have twelve of them, my son has two, the other three were sold. Sig makes quality firearms, for the most part. However, the Mosquito was less than stellar. The original P250 had issues. The SP2009/2340 got a proprietary rail which failed to catch on. The P320 design was flawed and is now subject to a "voluntary upgrade". I would thus approach any new Sig model with caution.

I don't want a Sig P365, but if the model turns out to be problem free I will likely buy one for my son next Christmas.

I was in the market to get a Beretta 92FS Compact, which holds 13+1 rounds and is only a bit of a BRICK than the full-size 92FS is.
Now, I see this new P365 that holds 12+1 (with the extended mag) and it weighs just over half of what the 92 Compact does.
Hmmm... I'm going to have to wait until I check the 365 out first before making a decision to go with the Beretta.

BTW, my local shop expects them to arrive any day and is pricing them at $499 + tax.

I shot a friend of my son's Mosquito. It had the worst trigger pull of any gun I ever shot. Ever.

It wasn't the feel, it was the length of pull. It felt like you had to pull it thru 2 inches of travel. I would ask myself, "Is this thing ever going to go off?" Sometimes I'd ask twice in a single shot.

I own 3 Sig pistols. Not only well made, but also well designed.

Got cash ready for a P210 Super Target when available.

Let's qualify the term "brick" here. Here is my S&W 65-3 lying on top of my Beretta 92fs Inox. Not much difference in width either, though I do not have a photo from that angle.

My dealer is receiving a grand total of one in the first shipment.

I've carried my Kel-Tec P-11 for many years. I have both 9mm and 40sw pistols.Their stainless belt clip is a winner!
Never a mis-fire. Best out there.

I really like the size and design of the Kel-Tec P11 since I want true DAO if I'm going to be sticking it in a pocket, but I've read a lot of mixed reviews on reliabilty and durability.

I had one and sold it, but I wish I had it back. Never had an issue with reliability, but I didn't carry it often enough or keep it long enough to comment on durability. I'm a big fan of Kel Tec, but I know others have had some issues . . .

A few years back, I asked Mas Ayoob if he would ever carry a Kel-Tec and if so, which one would he trust. His answer was the P11.

I like Crimson Trace lasers, so I'm not sure about the proprietary rail on the P 365. Considering it comes with metal, nite sights, I'd say the street price will be in line with other pistols of this comparable quality. Sig haters gonna hate!
I did feel the trigger upgrade and it feels much nicer than before the upgrade. however, before the upgrade came out I installed the apex flat face trigger so if I send it in, my apex will no longer work
