Default New Buck 110 LT

After posting about the drop point 5160 alloy steel Buck 110 I bought for my birthday, I found out the new lightweight Model 110 LT had just been released. For $27.14 delivered I could not resist. It arrived yesterday.

The new made in the USA Buck model 110 LT comes with the standard Buck 110 420HC stainless clip point blade. It has a liner-less black nylon handle. It weighs in at 3.2 ounces compared to 7.4 ounces for a standard 110. It comes with a nylon mesh belt pouch which can be worn vertically or horizontally. I find it fits comfortably in my rear pants pocket where my tri-fold wallet keeps it vertical.

The build materials are quite similar to the old 1998ish Bucklite Model 444 pictured. I carried that little 444 for five to ten years. It has seen a lot of use.

I like this new 110 LT. The light weight overcomes my primary objection to carrying a 110. This 110 LT will see more pocket time than my birthday drop point, but the drop point has it beat in the beauty department.

If your barbecue gun is a Glock 19, the new Buck Model 110 LT will make the perfect companion piece.

I kinda wish they'd place a lanyard hole like that on the traditional 110.

Mine came from GP Knives online. I also saw they were shipping from The Knife Center online. They were just introduced, so I'd expect wider availability soon.

Very cool.

My only complaint about Buck knives (I own several, including a 110) is the point or tip: it is somewhat thin and fragile. I "dull" the point just slightly on my Buck knives to make the point stronger.

I'm appalled at how many use knives as screwdrivers. Results in a lot of broken tips.

Not saying that you do that. Just a warning to those to whom it may apply.

Thanks for the fine photos and info on knife and sheath. The pouch seems well designed and not too lurid; I hate pouches that scream, KNIFE! to onlookers.
