got a chance to buy a Browning Medalist, and the box has blue inside. never seen blue before, only red. has anyone ever seen one? or is this after mkt? seems to be well fitted and looks factory, but with no cartridge block, only cut out for box of 22s, with finger cuts to remove box. Everything's there. anybody got any ideas?
I recently finished restoring my Medalist presentation case. I looked at hundreds of photos of them before starting the project and with some difficulty sourced the required material. OEM material is not available, so using the next best/closest looking available material is all you can use. I've never seen one with anything other than RED velvet/felt lining, this includes the Renaissance Model. The only blue interior on Browning factory pistol cases was on the early 3 gun cases and the single gun 9mm cases. If you want to restore your Medalist case yourself I can help you source the material. The missing cartridge block will be very difficult to find, also should be 2 keys for the lock and a shell deflector that is stored under the cartridge block. I'm not aware of anyone making reproductions. Commemorative Arms may have the missing accessories but prepare yourself and your wallet for a shock.
