Default Sig P365 or Glock 43 which would you choose and why?

I was amazed by the new Sig P365 and if this pistol proves to be reliable, it will be over for all other micro pistols same size. This thing is same size as a Glock 43 and just as thin. I think once this hits the market, Glock 43, Shield, P320 subcompact will be a thing of the past.

but after the P320 had a recall on drop safety and I am not too thrilled with the very high bore axis, I am scared to buy another Sig in spite of the excellent reviews so far.

Any of you plan on just sticking to your Shield or Glock 43 or will you dump those and get the P365 with 10 rounds which is amazing. I am tempted to save some money by maybe getting a +2 extended mag but not sure those can be trusted

I need to wait until I can actually shoot one before I decide.
I've been a long fan of Glock. When I tried the G43, I did like the way it felt to shoot and was able to shoot it well, but I didn't like it better than my Shield, so I didn't get one (yet).

While the P365is reported to be every bit as nice as the G43 and Shield, it will need to blow the Shield out of the water for me to spend what SIG wants for it... So probably.... No.

Plus... Being a brand new platform, the early run could very easily have a few bugs to work out.

Already have a G43 and several extra mags.
I'll wait a couple years for the hype and prices to settle down.

Now if the Sig 365 was all steel I'd be on a waiting list.

It is selling online for $512 not bad. But I am scared to buy something that has not been out yet. I bought the CZ P10C and the reviews before it actually hit the market was amazing but after it hit the market, then all kinds of issues came up and today I regret buying it. However, it is a great range toy but not trustworthy for carry.

I am also a bit unsure I want to carry something too small like the P365. I like compact size pistols for everyday

Smith and Wesson Shield 9.

And this is coming from a guy who carries a Glock at work and is a certified Glock Armorer.

If I had to pick one right now, it would be the Glock. I currently carry either a S&W 642 or a Glock 26. Both weapons have a long and proven track record. In matters of life of death, I want a weapon I can trust. Sig is pretty new to the striker-fired game and I'm still baffled at the military selecting the p320 over more proven options and there appears to be ongoing issues with it. I think the Sig p365 is way cool in concept, but I wouldn't even consider buying one until it has been out for at least a year or two. It's internally similar to the P320, but very small with a new magazine design, so I expect there to be several bugs to be worked out.

Hold out until the SIG has been out for a bit, then buy it.

I had a G43 and thought it was too big for what it offers. Also, the trigger is the worst Glock trigger, which is saying a lot. Sold it almost immediately.

Glock, because the parts are working man cheap and I can take it apart and work on it at home with simple tools.

I totally agree with you on the Glock being proven and why it should be chosen over all others. My Sig P320 in so many ways was a huge mistake. The high bore axis makes it a bad choice. Yes the P365 seems very tempting but will wait a year before buying it.

My only knock on the G26 is 10 rounds of 9mm I am going wiht my Glock GEN4 G30S

Overwatch precision do sell a pretty nice drop in trigger for the G43 but yes the stock G43 trigger was the worse. I sent mine back to Glock complaining and they sent it back and now it went from 9lbs down to 5lbs

The shield has been out long enough to where it seems to be well proven. My only complaint is it is kind of boring to own and shoot. the sig P365 if it proves to be just a reliable the Shield, Glock 43, and many others will be obsolete but I anticipate the Sig P365 will have feeding reliability problems because the mags are so small. I have heard the 365 is also flippy in spite of the fact you are on target faster.

I'm well satisfied with my Shield 45 and my Ruger SR1911 CMD. I don't think I'll be looking for anything else. My wife is interested in getting a carry gun of her own, but she doesn't want a polymer pistol...she likes the looks of the SIG P938, but we aren't in any rush.

I think Sig Sauer is a good company, their firearms are very nice quality however, for me the only thing I have a problem with is the bore axis height grip to sight sets to high for my comfort.
The G43 for me has a much better feel, again for me..... as far as easier concealment the 43 is thinner especially at the grip. Capacity for either of the two are perfectly fine for me for its purpose.
The main point here is the person carrying either of these two fine weapons has to be comfortable and proficient with it.

Glock 43. Because it is a Glock, and not a Sig. My last Sig was a huge disappointment and I may never give them another try. None of my Glocks have ever let me down. Pretty solid track record in my book.

I quickly forget, yes my .45ACP shield is also a favorite but for some reason the 9mm didnt really tickle my fancy but the gun is only 3oz lighter than the MP Compact so it is soft shooting

Either one is to big for pocket carry. I have a G26 I OWB carry time to time and wouldn't mind something smaller that holds the same amount of rounds.

My opinion: go with a P239 .40 S&W...if you can find one.

Seems as thought they've become extinct since Sig dropped that most excellent weapon.

I taught my ex-wife right: she wants a handgun for protection. She has told me with resolute conviction that she wants a .45 ACP. I'm thinking that a Shield .45 ACP would be perfect for her.

Neither. But, if those two were on a table and I was told I could walk away with my choice between the two it would be the Sig hands down. I'm not anti-Glock, just never owned one. I do have several Sig's and I like them all.

The only thing that will make me put away my Shield would be a DA/SA 9mm the exact same size and weight as the Shield.

Looking forward to seeing a P365 in person, but I am intrigued.
Need to hold it and if possible, shoot one. Need to try the trigger!
No G43 for me because the triggers on several I tried were not appealing at all. I don't expect 1911-ish, but do expect workable.
I am a 1911 guy first and foremost so that makes me a trigger-snob.

I'm really interested in getting some range time with the new Sig in the future, but it would really have to wow me for me to buy one.

I currently own/occasionally carry a G43 and really like it. Granted, I've swapped out the trigger shoe and had the trigger guard undercut. Now it fits my medium hands perfectly and is a real fun gun to shoot.

That being said, I still carry my J frames way more often. They are just too comfy.

Neither one, the Sig is new and un-proven, I currently have 8 Glocks but never a desired a 43, I am going to purchase an XD-E in .45 acp as my next carry gun.

I kind of got suckered into the Glock 43 and the flat face trigger on it actually makes it a pretty good shooter and I do like it but the 6 round mag is just too little. I think 10 rounds should be the minimum in any carry gun.

I have looked into the 4 round extended made by an Israeli company and it has gotten good reviews. if I can get my Glock 43 to hold 4 more rounds, I think that will save me from having to spend another $512 to get a P365 not knowing if I am heading towards a trap. Speaking of which, I was looking at the Gen5 Glock 26 but the match barrel is causing some to have feeding issues because the chamber has been confirmed by Glock the chamber is tighter than the Gen4 and the end of the slide where the barrel is inserted is also tighter.

the P365 from all accounts said it was a little snappy so not sure I will like that. The Mod2 I have is very soft recoil and it is a bit bigger but just as easy concealable so it would not make sense to go with something even smaller that will be harder to hold onto. I think a lot of us when a new pistol comes out, its so easy to become too caught up in the excitement but looking at the Springfield MOD2 subcompact it is the best of both worlds, good trigger, very reliable, small enough to conceal easily, has a 13 round primary carry mag and a 16 round backup, great ergo, why go with anything else. I was looking at getting a 4 round extended mag for my G43 but it would only be 10 rounds and the grip would be just as long as a full size.
