Yep looked today and saw both Field and Service grades. Also I refreshed the page today and saw IHC added.
Problem is I want the wood of a field grade with the barrel condition of a service grade.

Currently CMP limits you to 8 Garands a calendar year. They also limit Winchester and IHC rifles to one a year per grade, i.e. you could get a rack grade, field grade, and service grade Winchester in a year but not two service grades. The SA and HRA service and lower grades are not restricted other than the 8 a year.
I’ve been debating about the 1911’s, but I’ll probably put my paperwork in. With only 8,000 available in this first release, it’ll be like hitting the lottery if they pick you since I have a feeling there will be considerably more submissions than that. I would pay more for a higher grade, but if my number is drawn and all that’s left are the bottom of the barrel for the alleged $1000 I would probably pass.

I believe CMP is not living up to their charter when they sell guns at street prices. They were charged with getting guns into the hands of shooters so they could become better shooters. They aren't helping that cause by selling at the same price you can get one for at your local gun shop. I know they have operating costs but unless they make their finances public I'm not sure I trust them to be selling at what they can sell for instead of what the public will pay. The same guys with the money get those rifles just like they get all the other rifles. I can afford pretty much anything I want when it comes to firearms so don't think I'm saying this so I can get one cheaper. I just think the idea of developing new and young shooters is what they should focus on instead of selling at the highest possible price. Heck I don't shoot the guns I have unfortunately. I'd like to have a M1 for the historic value but I don't generally buy guns for that reason and it isn't the reason CMP was established. Read their charter. They have 3 key functions:
1. To instruct citizens of the United States in marksmanship;
2. To promote practice and safety in the use of firearms;
3. To conduct competitions in the use of firearms and to award trophies, prizes, badges, and other insignia to competitors.
I don't see anything about providing collectors with historic guns. I do see the words "practice" and "the use of firearms". The guns need to go to people to help them learn to shoot who wouldn't ordinarily be able to buy a quality firearm. Instead they use the high prices on guns to pay for instruction and competition. Except that money goes to instructors and people who organize events. I know how those things go at my gun club. The money goes into the club when it comes to organizing events - our club is crazy flush with cash so why do they need that CMP money? The instruction money goes to overpaid "experts" when it's very likely that actual practice would produce better shooters. So why pay instructors so much? Why not forget raising so much cash for reasons that get corrupted (which is often the case with money) and instead concentrate on getting guns into the hands of shooters that would actually benefit from practice? Nothing beats practice for making a shooter better.
I know it becomes hard to tell who actually needs help buying a gun and who just wants to turn a fast buck. Limits on how many guns a person can buy would go a long way in fixing that. I know they have a limit but it's 8 guns a year. Anyone buying that many isn't a shooter or even a collector. They're looking to make a profit.
