Default 1911 carried in the Korean Conflict photo

Today my MIL dug out an old family picture book I'd never seen, with some of her friends pictures during the Korean conflict. Since there is a 1911, I thought to share it here. This photo is labeled "North Korea 7-4-1953" The soldier is named Bob Chelino.

Seems like American G.I.’s look the same no matter what war zone or time period.

Default America's Best

Young in years, but mature beyond those years.
My Nation has been so blessed!!! Current events prove the truth of Mr. Jefferson's advice in the following quote.

1785 August 19. (Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr). "As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks."

A question that pops whenever I see these photos is "did he make it home?" Hopefully so.

Yes, good question. Too many join the ranks of forever young and brave heroes. Bob Chelino, the soldier in the photo, left the service to become a university professor.

Great photo. Bob only has 23 more days until the "cease fire" on
July 27, 1953.
