Default Recent auction purchase

So at a recent auction I decided to pick up an H&R .38 Safety Hammer, once I got her home, I started to hear a rattle in the grip. Grabbed a screwdriver and carefully took out the screw. This is what I found.
It appears to be a broken lead weight someone decided to install I figure for balance or maybe recoil help.

Well, tht's a new one! I recall not too long ago a Single Shot with the grip frame drilled out and brass weights installed.
