Ruger Mark III and H&R 949 acquisitions this past weekend
One of my very good friends invited me to the annual swap meet at the local game and fish club this past Sunday. My friend was selling his really nice Ruger Mark III Target, which I agreed to buy of course. I also picked up a .22 LR Harrington & Richardson 949 for a How-the-heck-can-I-say-no price of $125.

Two awesome buys. The ruger is a awesome plinkers. The h&r can be addicting. Just one won’t do. Trust me I know. I think that h&r holds the record for making so many different models in 22 revolvers.

Very nice! I'd love to find a set of those grips for my MkII Govt. Target.

I forgot to ask him, but I've never seen grips like those on a Mark III. They fit my hand perfectly.

They look like they fit well. If you can get some more info on them, I'd greatly appreciate it.

A set of those grips came on one my mk3's. The ruger store has a set (70$) listed for an mk4. A call to the store might confirm the fit to an mk3 and mk2's.

That little H&R brings back memories.
Back in the day I had a 6 inch barreled one I carried on many mushroom hunting trips.
Cheap guns of yesteryear are better than today's top end ones.
(Makes you wonder why anyone would hunt mushrooms with a handgun. They ain't dangerous! )

You never know when those chipmunks May attack you for taking their mushrooms.
Here’s a funny. Me and my brother took my neighbor bear hunting. We’re sitting in a apple orchard and after a while the chipmunks are going crazy bouncing off the trees. As we’re leaving my neighbor asks why were the chipmunks acting like that? It my brother sharing fift avenue candy bars with them. He stormed off mad. The next year we shot a bear and when I showed the rug to my neighbor we filled it’s mouth with fift Avenue wrappers. Lol
I notice to read the chipmunks, when there quiet something big is near, when they stop, freeze, loook in one direction a predator is coming.
