I Wasn't Looking For Another SIG...
The price and condition were too good to pass up. Besides, I didn't have a 357 SIG caliber pistol.
I'm happy with this P226, but I will be happier when I get to shoot it.

I have one in 357 Sig also, and find it to be one of the most accurate semi autos I've ever owned. It seems that the ammo sold in the US is a little anemic. I have a source of Winchester Ranger LEO ammo that is both powerful and accurate. The Speer/CCI Lawman ammo is weak and sub-par overall!
When you get around to reloading, never use 9mm FMI projectiles of any weight. The "roundness" of most verities won't allow a durable crimp, and the bullet will pushback when chambering. Happens often enough to be a PITA. Hollow points don't seem to be a problem so I just stay with them for practice ammo too.
I have a friend that sold his armored car company and thinks he is in line to buy my SIG. Not in this lifetime! but he asks every few months!
Another friend bought one at the same time I bought mine. He was at an old strip mine and there was a group of decommissioned 500 barrel oil tanks awaiting recycling. So he shot one to see how a hollow point Ranger 124 grain would do. Penetrated both sides! This is a ammo/gun combo that is very hard to beat! (they used to call these smart bullets! They expand on soft targets and penetrate on hard targets!)

I wanted a new P320 in .45acp but they hadn't been released yet. I still wanted one bad enough that I had to choose between the 9mm, .40, or .357 sig. Never really liked .40, and 9mm will never = .45acp, so I did a lot of research on the .357 round. I liked everything I had read except the alleged ferocity of the blast and recoil. Got the P320 and found it really didn't kick much more than any other gun I owned (even with "real" .357 rounds) and that's one of my EDC guns now.
Got the urge for either a P226 or P229 when the Legion series came out and finally decided on the P229 in .357; it's a great round.
Georgia Arms sells the .357 in its original loading, as does Underwood, DoubleTap, and Buffalo Bore. In that order of preference.

I'm currently waiting on 100 rounds of Remington 125gr FMJ's.
Thanks for the advice on my next ammo order.

No rails and no tails, the way a Sig should be IMHO.
