Spent a very good hour at my LGS yesterday doing a transfer...buying a PPQ in .45. Wow, am I a happy camper.
Bought it from a fella who says he bought it from a LEO who was going to carry it as a duty gun, but must have changed his mind. Whoever owned it, however, never, ever cleaned it. It was D I R T Y.
Got all grime off and it cleaned up just nice. A few pics below.
Came with Meprolight night sights, 8 mags, Talons, steel guide rod and new spring, 25 rounds of Sig SD ammo, and all the usual stuff in the blue box PLUS a few years of carbon/dirt.
I'll take it to the range tomorrow....unless I wear the trigger out dry firing it (with snap caps). Amazing. A crisp, clean, sharp 3 1/2 lbs. and a reset that can't be beat. I keep playing with it 'cause I don't believe how good it is (better than my 9mm Q)
I think I got a good deal on it. The mags have to be worth $25 each (anyone want some mags, I don't need all these), sights $125, the bullets $25, and all of $17 for the Talons. The gun was damn near free at $550.
Range report with targets if I knock the center out....something vague if they're all in the white.
(And I think I'm done with .45. After years of sticking to 9mm pistols [with an EZ .380 Shield for my wife) I seem to all of a sudden own four: Sig 220, S&W 4566, S&W 4516-1 for carry, and now the Q. I know a 1911 seems missing, but I have a Colt Competition in 9, so I got that base covered.)
