Default Welcome to my stag party

Sambar stag, that is. I did stag inventory today. This has always been my favorite grip material and most of these are the ones I bought for around $40-$60 in the 1980s. The top ones NOT on guns are Ruger Super BH, and two Smith N frame pairs. Those smooth ones look like current elk bone but very dense Eagle sambars. Let's see yours.

Starting to appreciate these more lately. I think I prefer them to elk.

I only have one pair of stag grips but really do like them. They are N frame.

Just found a set I think are elk but do not look much like my executioner set of elk I own.

Your .44-40 would match up real good with my friend Jim Martin's 1913 .44-40. This picture was used by his friend John Taffin in his book on .44s along with many of his other SAAs.

I have quite a few pair of Grashorn grips and like them very much, but his grips are all Elk. To me, Elk is nice, but not in the same class as Sambar Stag. Here is my only pair of Sambar Stag grips and I believe them to be pretty rare:

I too love vintage stag grips!

I recently found these nice Eagle stags at a gun show, but haven’t had time to take good photos of them..

You are right. It doesn't matter if the steel is blued, nickel, or stainless. Improves the looks of all of them.
