Default Pearl handled Colt .45

Wow! I accidentally took a couple pictures of a nickel gun that didn't turn out completely horrible. You can actuallty see the tones in the pearl. Gun is my renickeled '58 Colt .45. The earliest centerfire handgun I still have that I traded for in 1983. It came with stags that have been on another Colt for the last 25 years.

I had a nickel plated Colt 44/40, 4 3/4” pearl stocked SAA some years back. It was made in 1903. I sold it when someone with a lot of money came along. It’s one of the few guns I’ve regretted getting rid of. It was a gaudy son-of-a-gun but great fun. I once got five sage grouse with five shots with that gun. Yours looks great! Don’t let it get away like mine did.

Do you have a picture of it to torture yourself with like I do with stuff I sold or traded off? Yours sounds like it had everything going for it. Nickel, pearl, great cowboy caliber and the most desirable barrel length.

I don't. Best I could do was a picture of me and a couple of friends standing next to an antelope I had killed with a Sharps rifle and you can see the butt of the gun sticking out of its holster if you look close. You're right, that gun had everything going for it, and the guy who got it paid for all of that and then some. Still, I wish I had it back.

Wyatt and Charlie, great guns!

Charlie, do you have any idea who did the engraving on yours? Was it factory? Thanks.
