How do you remove a “plug” from a J. C Higgins bolt action 12 gauge?
The end of the magazine tube is not slotted for a screwdriver. It is a Model 583.20 which I believe is a High Standard.
Any ideas???
Thanks!!

The screw that holds the magazine tube in the bbl band at the front also intersects the end cap on it's way thru.
Remove that screw and pull the band forward,,the cap will come forward with the band.
The mag spring will be right behind it under some compression of course.
