Default Simmons "22 Mag" Rimfire Scopes - Pleased

Recently I purchased two Simmons "22 Mag" model scopes for two older .22 rifles. (My previous rimfire scope purchases have been a Nikon P-22 for the 15-22 and a Bushnell for a Marlin Model 60.)

One is a 4X32 I purchased at the local Walmart and the other is a 3-9X32 I ordered from Amazon Prime. Both cost less than $40 and came with rings. I have been very pleased with these scopes. Clarity and brightness is very good. Both have adjustable eyepieces and come with a limited lifetime warranty. In some of the reviews that I looked at some people call the included rings "junk" but they work well on the dovetails on my older .22 rifles. The clicks on the windage and elevation adjustments are "soft" so you have to pay attention when adjusting to feel them. Otherwise I feel these a great scope for the price point.

It's not difficult to find new genuine Weaver 1" rings with the claw (tip-off) mounts typical of .22 rifles on eBay priced in the $10 range. I find that any standard 1" scope, even a cheap one, is vastly preferable to any of the 3/4" scopes sold for use on .22 rifles. I am waiting for the arrival of another pair of those rings I bought last week for use with an old Weaver K4 on my new Remington 550-1. I have a similar setup on my Remington Nylon 77, and it works great.
