which hand gun fits your hand the best?
I've never been big into guns until recently while going thru a large private collection.
I've had the opportunity to hold about 30-40 different handguns over the last few months with lots more to go thru.
They have been of several different manufactures and from .22s to a 500 S&W Magnum which I'm looking forward to shooting and lots of others in-between.
So far the one that "fits" the best is this Colt 1911.
I have more to go so maybe I'll find another one that seems to fit perfect too.
What fits you perfect to you??

The Star BM fits my hand like it was made for it.
Kind of a mutt gun, but it sure fits me nicely!

Don't own one, but the Kahr K9 fits my hand the best.

This will come as no surprise to anyone who knows me, or read any of my posts. The round butt K frames with magna grips and an grip adaptor works best for me.

Every handgun fits my hand. With the exception of competition handguns fitted with anatomic grips for hands smaller than mine.

Colt 1911.
S&W K round butt.
Browning Hi Power.
Bought a used Glock 17 4th gen
Seller had added a back grip spacer.
Took it off.
The 4th gen change was a big improvement
grip wise.

There are a few that fit my hand well. I like K-frame targets. I like the Model 39. I like the 1911. I like Hogue wood for just about any revolver. But for me, the best fitting and feeling is by far the BHP.

K frames were made to fit my hand but autos were made to fit their magazines.

I was really surprised for some reason the first time I held that Colt.
Its never been fired and I don't think I'll ever fire it either so now I'm looking for another one to shoot.
I like the feel of my S&W 28-2 also.

There is a lot to be said about the grip on the CZ75. And, of course, S&W K and N frame revolvers.
Edit to add: Oooops, I see post #10 was added while I was typing mine. Well, we do agree, anyway!

BHP for me, as well. A Model 39 isn't too far behind.

For revolvers, I'd probably say a K-frame round-butt with PGS Hideout non-grooved, non-textured grips.
For semi-autos, while I have neither owned nor fired one, the Sig P239 seemed to fit my hand best.

I have 2 that fit perfectly.
S&W model 60 357 rubber factory stock.
KAHR CW45 stock grip.
Both have heavy recoil but one hand still has 100% control.
I do use 2 hands with stance as trained many years back in the Academy.
Both handguns have an outstanding recoil.
Not for girly girls.

Have to admit that the P.08 is one of the handguns that fit my hand best.

A stock 1911 fits my hand real well, the next is the Luger as being mentioned in a couple other posts.
I read a long time back and think it was said by Jeff Cooper. If I'm wrong please correct me as it was many years ago.
A auto pistol was designed to fit a hand well, a revolver was designed to fit a tentacle well.

I have fairly large hands so I can handle most of the medium to larger handguns. When I get to something like a Walther PPK or smaller I need a finger extension on the magazine.

My hands are on the small side, but my M1911A1s seem to be just the right size for me. I also have a set of N frame Bear Hug stocks I had custom made back in the mid-80's by Deacon Deason. Those are on my pre-24 and fit great.

#1 is a tie between a 1911 (either compact or full size) and the M&P with the small backstrap (any frame size as well).
#2 is also a tie between a round butt K or round butt N when each is wearing the Pachmayr Compac grip.

My Browning HP comes to mind first, then my 1911 .45 with long trigger and flat main spring housing, and a CZ75 is good also. In revolvers a K/L frame with targets is OK but a bit big at the bottom, my Ruger stainless Security Six with Herret Shooting star grips is better, and my 4" Highway Patrolman with Jarwuan P. combat grips is very good.

Is that a Ross holster, from South Africa? How'd you come by that?
I agree that the CZ-75B does have a terrific grip.
I also like the Colt .45 auto, the S&W M-66 with Pachmayr Presentation grips, my GP-100 with Pachmayr Grippers, and the S&W J-frames with Tyler adapter or the Pachmayr Presentation Compac grip, the older, two panel style.
The S&W M-39 feels very good in my hand, but the only one I've shot gave very poor accuracy.
If the Beretta M-9 is too fat for your hand, try their M-92FS. That almost invisible indentation on the backstrap works wonders!
I've read that Wm. Shatner, who played Admiral Kirk in the Star Wars films, held a Colt .45 auto and liked the feel so well that he had the next generation of movie phasers incorporate a very similar grip. I don't think he's a "gun guy" at all, but even he picked up on the feel of the old Colt auto.

anything bigger than a k frame is too big for me.
but, after i shoot any gun 3,000-4,000 rounds, it feels like part of my arm.
that's when the gun becomes magic.

My hands seem to be very adaptable. Many guns seem to fit with little problems. But for semi auto pistols, I think 1911 style guns just seem to be a drop in fit for me. John Moses hit one out of the ballpark with the ergonomics of the 1911 in my opinion.

Maybe my hands have shrank over the years. It used to be that a K frame with an open backstrap fit well.
Now the three guns that feel best in my hand are:
642 with factory boot grip
Kahr K series
1911 with flat mainspring housing and short trigger

All three of my full size handguns 5906,SD9 and M65 fit good in hand. The 5906 with O.E. grip fits best plus comfortable to shoot.

I have always liked my Mod 19's with target grips. When I go to semi auto's My Kahr CW9 and Sig P938 fit the best.

My hands seem to adapt well to just about any handgun I pick up. I have medium size hands, but everything from a Shield to a Glock 20 fits.

My hands are easy to please....
My 3rd gen and the Springfield XD compact are exceptional in feeling that they were 'made' for me.
I like the Shield except it's a little thin.
My 686 would be top revolver except that I have to get a good grip to balance the 6" barrel.
My Chief's Special with Pachmehr grips is good except the Pachmehrs aren't really necessary and mess up the intent of the small pistol. But they do help me control the pistol better.
Model 10's are great to hold on to...
Blocks are NOT ergonomic in my mind.
The full size Taurus is not that ergonomic, but I love the hammer/action layout.
The Kel Tec P 11 HOLDS fine, but outside of a few yards I can't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside with it.

If you’ve ever read my posts, it will be no surprise: K frame square butt PC magnas. I own and shoot others, but these feel at home in my hand and that’s what I want when the chips are down. Good shootin’,
