Default Steyr AUG A1

Just bought this rifle, a change from the AR 15 A2s I already own. It’s a civilian semi auto only, 1987 built.

Very interesting concept, very easy to field strip and maintain.

Some range time

50 meters off hand

50 meters rest

I like mine as well. Very dependable and reasonably accurate. I put a Vortex red dot and magnifier on mine.

Nice!! Kind of a timeless design. I think they still make them here in the USA now.

My biggest regret in firearms is not purchasing one before they were banned in my state. I have always love the AUG design. Especially the modern ones that can take AR mags.

Very nice!

Mine's a very well-used carbine model, with non-matching numbers.

It's my only plastic gun, and it shoots like crazy. It's one of my SHTF guns!

I've seen them on YouTube on, Sea Patrol.

As the Australian military rifle, they'd logically be on the ship. They had some with short barrels, too.

But look carefully at their 9mm pistols. Some are the expected Brownings, but often, they had CZ-75 or 85. I guess the gun rental studio didn't have enough Brownings, or CZ's rented for less.

How do you like the trigger on those?

In the early ‘80’s I shot the auto models.

Very handy rifles, but the triggers were a long, heavy, rough pull.

I have no issues with the trigger, it’s better than my 2 AR 15A2.

The full auto model has no switch I understand. The first part of the pull is for semi auto, if you pull more / farther it’s full auto.

Maybe that’s where the difference lies, with a harder pull to avoid unwanted bursts.
