Default Ruger GP100 7 rd

Has anyone purchased a Ruger 7 shooter? If so how does it shoot?

I've had a 4" GP100 7 shot since March & it's heading back to Ruger! Shoots 7-8" high @ 25yds, from a bench rest with factory Speer .357 Mag 158g. GDHP. Rear sight is ALL the way down & front is the OEM fiberoptic.

Very disheartening & irritating!!

Anyone else having the same problem, or heard of it?

When the 7-shooters were first released, they had a problem with case rims hitting each other in the cylinder. Several people had that problem on Ruger Forum. One very good thing about Ruger - they'll make it right if you send it back. I bought a used SP-101WC and sent it back for end-shake issues, and complained about the finish. They fixed the end-shake and polished it so nicely that I haven't had the nerve to fire it since!

My case rims are close but no issues there, I'm just fed up with the howitzer accuracy of it. It shouldn't be lobbing rounds at that angle.

Just sent it back today.

I got a 2.5" GP100 .357 with the 7 round cylinder yesterday. The ammo I currently have (Hornady CD and Remington UMC) doesn't touch or bind. I haven't shot it yet, though, so I can't tell you how accurate or not it is. One thing I can tell you is that the trigger on these GP models are very nice...lots better than the trigger on my SP101.
