Sig SP 2022 for $375
Stopped in a little pawn shop I visit occasionally to see if they had anything good. Saw this SP 2022 in .40 caliber. It's looks to have been shot little, if at all. Got it for $375 out the door. Got home, Optics Planet had brand new .357 Sig barrels for $139. So, for a grand total of $514, I've got two new calibers to shoot. I think I did okay.

Checked a well known auction site for magazines and holsters. No joy on the magazines, but I got a brand new Sig Sauer (by Mitch Rosen) side-snap holster for $37. And CDNN had factory 12 round magazines for $30.95 each, so I bought 5. So, grand total for the package of: pistol, holster, magazines (6 total) and spare barrel in .357 Sig: $705.80. It's been a good day.

The SP2022 is a great and underrated pistol. I picked up a 9mm with night sites a couple years ago for $350 cash. It is very accurate, dead reliable and has a pretty decent trigger. The only downside is the price of extra magazine.

I agree. Most places wanted $40 plus for the 10 rounders. I was happy with the price from CDNN.

I picked up a LE trade Sig Pro sp2340 in .40S&W - it is the predecessor to the SP2022. Think of it as a sp2022 without the the rail - it has a proprietary mounting system, but, otherwise, essentially the same.
To find magazines in 40/357 on GB, search "sig pro 357". Factory LE trade mags are cheap IF you don't have a problem with used mags - I don't.
There've also been new factory mags ~$20 +/-.
Be patient as great deals show up.
There are also different sized grips available.
And, mag bodies for the 40/357 P229 and sp2340/sp2009/sp2022 are the same. The differences are the floor plate and the mag release cut.
A 9mm barrel will also drop in, but 9mm specific mags must be used.
Good luck with your new weapon!

Agree. I was on the lookout for a white sights version right from the time I got back into shooting (2008/2009) right up through mid-2016 when it was reported that the SP2022 was being discontinued... ... and all the local dealers were already sold out of the 9mm version. The SP2022 had been one of my very favorite range rental pistols.
The reported discontinuation of the SP2022 drove me quickly into a new P226, albeit at a much higher cost. No regrets, but I still keep one eye cocked open for a possible someday SP2022 good buy.
