Default Scope Mount for Rossi Lever Action

Has anyone here used any of the side mounts for the Rossi Lever Action Rifles? I'm thinking I might want a red dot on mine and the only mounts so far I've seen is a side mount type. I tried one like this on a mini 14 and it worked ok, but was not quite stable enough to hold perfect zero. It was fine for shooting at coyotes at 100 or less but certainly not target grade

Some of the newer Rossi M92 carbines have screw holes under the rear sight....Taurus offers a mount for those.

If you have a braztech Rossi 92 there’s tapped screw holes under the rear sight. NOE bullet moulds makes a scope mount for them. Very nice mount, I have one on a newer 44 mag

I'm not sure which vintage your 92 is, but mine is an earlier Brazilian in 45 colt. I also struggled at first trying to find a good mount for a red dot or scout scope until I came across the Pearson no drill mount.

Pearson's No-Drill Winchester Rail Mount

Installation was super easy, just drift out the rear sight and drift in the mount anchor. Then screw in the mount to the top screw hole in the reciever, then use the other screw provided to secure the mount to the anchor. I used a little bit of loctite for reassurance. Vortex strikefire was my red dot of choice.

I've shot about 600 rounds of various 45 colt ammo, including cowboy loads all the way up to the PDX1. No changes in zero. Steel plates run for cover with this gun for sure. Keep us posted on what you decide!
