My favorite lever action rifle
I have quite a few lever action rifles Savage , Marlin, and Winchester. This particular lever is my all time favorite. It’s a Winchester Model 1894 in .32 Winchester Special. It’s a take-down with a Lyman receiver sight. The guns serial number dates it to 1911 and it is in near mint condition. Here’s several photos of the rifle. I hope you enjoy. Bill

I'M NOT PICKY
As long as it's a Winchester Big bore XTR in 22mag, 7-30 waters, or 375 Win.  Seriously, whatever does it for you.

Wow!! that is a really neat LITTLE lever action rifle you have there. Do you ever shoot it at all? Seems it would be interesting to shoot it at an indoor range. Pristine condition for sure!

I also like levers, though I must admit all of mine are more modern in manufacture. Ihave several 22s, 357S, 41 Magnums, 45LCs along with a 45-70 and a .308
Almost two years ago this one began a transformation.
It is a Marlin lever-action chambered for 45 LC
As is pretty obvious, it is now a Take Down Lever Gun
A stainless block was matched in contour for the barrel half of the rifle.
It threads together and has a ball/detent lockup below the magazine tube.
The magazine tube itself slides into the receiver and locks in place to further prevent separation of the halves, intentionally or otherwise.
I just need to remember where I put the hood for the front sight. It works better that way with the Lyman Tang sight

I’m sorry, but I’ve pulled this stunt a couple of years ago in the 1896-1960 hand ejector section. The rifle is a half scale 1894 Winchester take-down made by the late Raymond E. Hutchens of Indianapolis Indiana. The original rifle was a .32 Win. Spec. Mr Hutchens made his half scale in .22 short. It is fully operable and every part internally and externally is exactly like the full size rifle. He made his own broaches and rifled the barrel with the same twist as the full size only half scale. He stocked the rifle in macasser ebony and made the take down case for the rifle. I have not shot it but I’m sure it would work perfectly. Here are a few more pictures. Bill

When I saw the pic of you holding it, I was going to ask if Andre the Giant was your older brother. 
That is a beautiful piece of workmanship. I would hate to see what getting something like that hand made today would cost.

VERY COOL Mod! Too bad the Factory never made that - I would have bought one! 
PS: Hoods are cheap and readily available if you can't find yours. MidwayUSA and Brownell's should have them in stock.

My levers (2 64s & 2 71 deluxe and one marlin 45-70) have moved on to others....but one 71 standard is still home

Tough call, have a few lever guns. I guess my favorite is still my first. Pre-'64 Winchester 94 in 32 Win Spl. Had it since 1969.

I have too many to pick a favorite. Maybe my Winchester Model 1892 Deluxe Take Down in .44-40. When I heard that one of my friends had died, I bought it and named the rifle after him. He was 64 years old and had a heart attack while playing rugby with young men less than half his age. When I shoot it, I remember the good times we had shooting at the range.
