Default Anyone have a Kahr CT 40?

Iíve never felt the need to pay the price for a Kahr when I have plenty of other pistols that serve the same purpose ( Glocks )

Over the last several days, I have seen the sticker price on Kahrís ďbargainĒ priced model (CT 40) plummet. The online reviews were very good. So, I looked at few other Kahrs at a LGS. They felt good in the hand too. There were not any CT40s in stock. The store said they could order one for $369.

I took the plunge yesterday and bought one online. They are a 7+1 in .40 S&W. with one magazine. After a little web surfing, I found a seller with over 20 of them NIB @ $227 shipped. They are all over the internet at $250 or less.

Does anyone here have one ??

I love Kahr pistols. I owned a CW40. It was my EDC for a couple years. The CW40 is a compact version of the full size CT series. 6+1 capacity. I actually used mine in a few local IDPA matches. Good carry guns! I hope you like it.

Call me a wuss but 9mm is about as potent as I want to go in something the size of a Kahr. I have a CW9 and the way it dissipates recoil is amazing, certainly better than an LC9s.

Haven't owned a Kahr but there is a local gunsmith who swears by them so they're pretty high on my look at list for carry.

I DO own a CT40. IMO, Kahr Arms is the hidden Gem of the Pistol Community. Forget that the CEO and founder of Kahr Arms and designer is the son of Sun Myung Moon who, older folks will remember, was the cult leader of the "Unification Church", who's followers were affectionately known as "Moonies". Justin Moon is a avid shooter and briiliant designer. IN the 1980's when "wonder 9's" was with hot item, everyone jumped on that bandwagon, but Justin Moon had a different idea. He was active in the shooting sports and carried every day and (being Korean and of small physical stature) fund that the "wonder 9's" and Steall 1911 were too big, bulky and heavy to carry every day ( let's admit it, how many leave their 5lb 1911 at home now a days , 'cause it's too heavy or their "wonder 9", cause it's too bulky). So he set out to design a pistol that filled the niche of every day carry. His goal was/is to design pistols that are skinny and light and reliable and accurate. He hit a home run, out of the ball park. Older Kahrs demanded a 200 rnd break in, but the newer CT and ST lines do not. I;ve never been an advocate of the whole "break in: thing. IMO, if you have to shoot a gun 100-200 rnds to break it in, something is seriously wrong. Being that I can work on guns, when I buy a 1911 or anything, I immediately take it apart and polish ALL moving and mating parts. THAT is exactly what the point of shooting all that ammo is about anyway, right? So, the Kahr is skinny and light and reliable and accurate( LOVE the "dot the I" sights. ALL my pistols have it now- including my S&W M&P) and my EDC piece. The ONLY gripe I have is, I HATE MIMS parts. I'm a staunch advocate of forged or milled from forged, billet, parts. I bought a Kimber CDP Pro and LOVED the gun, but found out that Kimber uses all MIMS parts. Luckily, thers' a dozens of companies that makes forged and milled parts for the 1911( My fav, Wilson Combat "Bullet Proof" parts). Not so many for the Kahr. In fact, none. One company makes a custom, Aluminum back slide plate, but that's it. Kahr DOES offer a milled Slide Stop pin on it's Premium line, so i got one and put it on my CT40. I also suggest skate tape on the grip or Talon grips. Other than that, it's good, right out of the box and a joy to carry EDC. AFA recoil, man up and build up, or give up and take up,,,,,, knitting....lol

I considered getting a Kahr until I found out that the company is owned by a guy whose entire family consists of Cult Leaders, (most notably his parents who have been involved in some extremely shady things) whom he has never made any effort to distance himself from nor denounce their actions, and I would rather not purchase a firearm from someone with such connections, afraid of where some of that money may be going. There are plenty of firearms manufacturers who aren't possibly tied to any cults to choose from.

Kahr isn't tied to any cult. The "cult" ( Unification Church) was brought down in the 80's, the Dad cult leader, was jailed and died years ago. The son ( Justin Moon, CEO of Kahr Arms) was a kid when all that happened. He came into Kahr as honest to goodness as any of the other Gun makers. Have you heard the stories of Winchester? Ruger? and even Sam Colt? Nefarious scoundrels, all of them. So what? When I buy a gun, I'm not buying the personal, human frailty of the original maker. YMMV

One of the best pocket guns I've ever regretted selling was a Kahr CM9.

So the sins of the parents follow the children for evermore? Very Klingon of you.
