Supposedly Sig ceased production of the P250 in 2017 and it disappeared from their online catalog in January 2018. The P290RS also went away at the same time.

So today what did I see? A P250C in 380ACP with a date of March 2018 on the box, so what's up with that? That model has been unobtanium for nearly two years, but I noticed a handful suddenly appeared on BrokeGunner. Did Sig or one of their distributors find a few under some boxes at the back of the vault? Did Sig do a special contract run and these were leftovers?

I’ve seen Ruger “clean house” and produce a few that have been discontinued also. Maybe???

I just bought one the other day at my local shop. It was a Sig P250 Compact in .380 (Model 250C-380-B) for $349. I was shocked when I saw it for sale. Talk about unobtanium. What really surprised me was the date of 20 March 2018 on the box. Something strange is going on. Anyway, I was very happy to have found it and asked the owner to see if he could get another one for me. I really love this gun. Fantastic DAO trigger, super lightweight, 15 round capacity and .380 caliber which I personally like a lot. I would really love to know why these are suddenly popping up for sale.

The early guns had issues but Sig corrected those quickly. No matter, the DAO didn’t excite the striker fans; Sig came up with a striker fired pistol (P320) using components from the original. The P250 takes some practice to shoot accurately but is a sound, dependable, accurate handgun. I have owned five, still have three of them. I have a c and sc in 9mm and a sc in .40 S&W.

I have no idea why the rear sight is unique to the P250 or why Sig does not offer grip modules in all sizes without the rail. One more whine, I would prefer to be able to use the same mag in my P228, P250, and SP2022 but each pistol has a mag of it’s own design.

To answer the original question, the gun is so modular that it would not be difficult to produce a run of .380 compacts using spare barrels, mags, recoil Springs. The Sig P250c in 9mm and .40 S&W are still in stock in the Academy Sports here in metro Atlanta.

I'd be in the group that likes the P250 (gen 2's). I've got a couple gen 2 SC 9mm's I bought NIB when they started phasing them out. Dirt cheap. $225 or so each. I don't carry them, but I've used them with new shooters. Fun range gun and easy to shoot. Trigger very much like my 642's.

I'll have to look for a .380 model. There's enough heft in the pistol, it's got to be a really sweet shooter in .380.
