Default **Safe Trigger** My Buttocks!

Lots of things wrong about the story.
Who does a back-flip on a dance floor while carrying?
My opinion, only a dummy, even if he is an FBI agent.

I know I will be roundly excoriated by the **booger hook-bang switch** crowd, but this
is just more proof to me that a Glop is inherently dangerous. I realize that under
the circumstances, any handgun could have fired. I believe, though, that a double action
revolver, or a properly safed 1911, would be much less likely to fire than the Glop. In fact, my guess
would be that the Glop is probably at least 10 times more likely to fire under that particular
scenario.

It is fairly obvious that in his haste to grab the gun, he got his finger in the trigger guard
and applied enough pressure to fire the gun.

In the end, though, the discharge isn**t the fault of the gun, but is a severe case of defective operator head spacing.

I saw the video earlier and reached the same conclusions.

Extremely poor judgement!

Why do you think a Glock is "10 times more likely to fire in that particular scenario" than any other handgun? The guy pulled the trigger. Firearms are designed to fire when the trigger is pulled. Less likely with a DA revolver, or a cocked and locked 1911? Possibly.

I'm not a Glock fanboy despite owning several, but it seems disingenuous to blame the design when the incident was caused by unsafe gun handling.

Seems like as good a place as any to ask this. If your right-handed wife, who does occasionally go to the range, carried her self defense weapon in one of those specially designed purses, which would you rather have her drawing while seated in the passenger seat next to you: a striker fired gun of any make, or a double action revolver or semi? Let’s be honest.

A Shield, Body Guard, or M&P without a safety would have done the same thing . . .

Nah man, that's the DEA. Gotta give the DEA agent in that old video some credit for taking a Glock fotay in the leg like it was nothing though.

If the gun was unmodified, it would not fire unless he pulled the trigger. The blame is fully on him and not the gun if this is the case.

I like they way he walks off with hands raised as to say no harm no foul, maybe he was in shock? I do believe he should have had to take a Breathalyzer test like any other person would have, and perhaps loose his CC permit. That would have been the outcome if it had occurred at my local bar. Their should not be any exceptions for playing stupid with a loaded firearm IMHO.

If stupidity was against the law....he would get a life sentence !
His lack of dancing skills would get him 10 years alone.

Just goes to prove that stupid people should not carry even if you are FBI.

Agreed, but it was nothing new to him. He surely ****ed up in front of the world on that one, but he had some serious equipment to have done what he had been doing before he got sent on a show and tell mission.

My 2 bits. The gun was at parade rest and never went off until dance man grabbed it pulling the trigger. Prety obvious not a drop fire. Glop is off the hook on this. Agent is on the hook in so many ways.

That agent was a butt wipe. If he was working for me and we were in the FBI I would fire him...
That was the absolute stupidest thing I have seen in a long time...

The 1st time I saw the video, there was no Audio, but watching the crowd, nobody scattered when the pistol hit the floor. People didn't scatter until After he ineptly reached for it, apparently put his finger into the trigger guard and negligently tripped the trigger.

He was obviously more interested in quickly scooping it up and getting it out of sight, than he was in picking it up safely.
