Colt 1911 crown repaired
A few weeks ago I posted a a photo of the damaged Colt 1911 crown from the factory. I took the pistol to a local gunsmith. We looked at it with magnification and could see two spots where the metal was mashed inward, deforming the grooves.
He recut and recrowned the barrel and then polished the crown. It’s about as perfect as it can be now. Very pleased with the work. Here are before and after pics.

Very nice work. Have you compared groups, before and after the work?

The original crown was so screwed up that I decided against shooting it. Since metal was actually deformed into the bore, I wanted it repaired as soon as possible.
