Colt's revolving pocket pistol?
Well good day! 
Has anyone here fired one of Col. Colt's fine revolving pocket pistol of navy caliber?
Appears to be a fine piece! Thoughts?

No, but that isn't one of them. That's a New Model Police.
The Pocket Navy looks more like an 1849 Pocket .31 or a scaled down M-1851 Navy . All are .36 caliber.
My pick of the lot would be the police with 5.5 inch barrel. You ill. the 4.5 inch barrel.
You probably need a good Colt book. A top choice is Haven & Belden's, "A History of the Colt Revolver, from 1836-1940." But Geoffrey Boothroyd's, "The Handgun" will usually suffice and has a lot of info on many other guns, too.

Technically it still is of "Navy" caliber.

Here are my thoughts: That is a very nice looking old Colt. I doubt that I would fire it myself, just out of respect for its age, value, and extreme difficulty of finding a replacement part if needed.

I believe I fired one years ago at a S.A.S.S. Match. One of the fellas only shot black powder and he had one that was used for a "side match". Only took one shot and it was a long time ago.

It's nice, but the barrel looks a little long. I've never had chance to fire an original Colt BP though...

All my C&B revolvers are 44's: 3 Walker's, 2 Army's, 2 Remington's, and a LaMatt. I buy .457 round balls to keep it simple! I use 25grans of FFg in everything but the Walker's in these I use 40. These are the target loads. The Walkers will hold up to 70 grains with round balls! After 6 shots from these it is hard to breath or see on a calm day.

I have an ASM made replica and it is a fun little shooter. I use 15 grains 3F powder and a .380 round ball. I would love to have an original but ones in shooting condition are hard to find (and pricey!). Have looked at a couple of the later generation Colts, might spring for one of those sometime.

A friend has a similar Colt Pocket Pistol in .31 caliber. Cherry grip, nickle plated backstrap and triggerguard, color case hardened trigger and hammer, deep blue frame, barrel and two engraved cylinders.
It's cherrywood presentation box has a tool you place a cylinder on to load. He tells me it was made by Colt to the original 1850s design in the 1970s.
